The mower blade should
always
be
kept sharp and
properly
balanced. Disconnect spark
plug
wire.
Remove Mower, clear
clirt
and
qrass
from underside,
and check blade.
Use
a heavy
glove
or
padding
for hand
protection
while
removinq mower
blade.
Remove the
nut
and
lockwasher securing the blade and
remove b1ade.
See
your
Gravely
dealer to replace
or
sharpen blade.
Replace mower blade in
position
on
mower
and
secure
with
lockwasher and nut. Use
a
heavy
wrench; torque to 50-55
Ibs. Be
sure to
use
a
heavy
glove
or
paddino
for
hand
protection
while
fasteninq
blade"

Mower Removal
In order
to
perform
remove
the mower as
some
maintenance it may be
necessary
follows:

Lower
the
mower.
Remove
the hairpin cotter
and washer
from
the stud
on the attachment idler
(Figure
6)
and
disconnect
the
mower
brake link.
Raise
the
mower.
Loosen the belt
fingers on the
tractor
PTO
sheave, slide
them to one
side, and remove
the
mower
belt
from this sheave.
Lower
the mower and remove
the
hairpin cotters
and
washers.
The two
pins
and washers on
the front
secure
the mower to the front hanqers and can be disconnected
to free the front
of the movrer.
The
other
two
pins
and
washers
join
the front of the mower
to the belt
tightener bracket. toosen the
hex
nuts and
turn the
rear
hanger hooks to the side to free them
from the
rear
hangers. See Figure
10.
