This document is the Owner's Manual for Multi Variable Air Conditioners, specifically Console Type Indoor Units, manufactured by GREE ELECTRIC APPLIANCES, INC. OF ZHUHAI. The manual provides original instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance of models GMV-ND22C/A-T, GMV-ND28C/A-T, GMV-ND36C/A-T, GMV-ND45C/A-T, and GMV-ND50C/A-T.
Function Description
The device is a commercial air conditioner designed for multi-variable air conditioning systems. It functions to cool or heat indoor spaces, providing temperature control and air purification. The unit can operate in various modes including cooling, heating, dry, and fan-only. It features a remote controller (YAP1F) for easy operation and offers special functions like child lock, energy-saving mode, absence function, and timer settings. The unit also incorporates an air-purifying filter with Titanium Apatite Photocatalytic technology to improve indoor air quality.

Wiring Requirements (for models GMV-ND22C/A-T, GMV-ND28C/A-T, GMV-ND36C/A-T, GMV-ND45C/A-T, GMV-ND50C/A-T):
- Air Switch Capacity: 6A
- Minimum Sectional Area of Ground Wire: 1mm²
- Minimum Sectional Area of Power Cord: 1mm²
- Power cord size is based on BV single-core wire (2~4pc) at 40°C ambient temperature when laying across plastic pipe.
- Air switch is D type and used at 40°C.
- Install cut-off device near the unit with a minimum distance of 3mm between each stage of cut-off device.
Refrigerant Piping:
- Suggested shortest pipe length: 2.5m (to avoid noise and vibration).
- Copper pipe and fittings are recommended.
- Insulation material: Polyethylene foam.
- Heat transfer rate: 0.041 to 0.052W/m K (0.035 to 0.045kca/(m h °C)).
- Refrigerant gas pipe's surface temperature reaches 110°C max.

- Flarenut tightening torque:
- Gas side (22/28 class, 3/8 inch): 32.7-39.9 N.m (333-407kfg.cm)
- Gas side (36/45/50 class, 1/2 inch): 49.5-60.3 N.m (505-615kfg.cm)
- Liquid side (22/28/36/45/50 class, 1/4 inch): 14.2-17.2 N.m (144-175kfg.cm)
- Pipe bends should be gentle, with a bending radius of 30 to 40mm or larger.
Drain Piping:
- Use commercial rigid polyvinyl chloride pipe (general VP 20 pipe), outer diameter 26mm, inner diameter 20mm.
- Drain hose (outer diameter 18mm at connecting end, 220mm long) is supplied with the indoor unit.
- Drain pipe should be inclined downward to ensure smooth water flow.
- Insulate indoor drain pipe with 10mm or more of insulation material.

Usage Features
Installation:
- The indoor unit can be wall-mounted or floor-standing, with exposed, half-concealed, or concealed styles.
- Installation location should allow cool/warm air distribution, easy drainage, support the unit's weight, and provide easy maintenance access.
- Avoid direct sunlight, heat/steam sources, and machine oil vapor.
- Keep at least 1 meter away from televisions or radio sets to prevent interference.
- Not suitable for corrosive, inflammable, explosive environments, or kitchens unless a special anti-corrosive/anti-explosion unit is used.
- The appliance should not be installed in the laundry.
Operation (via Remote Controller YAP1F):
- ON/OFF: Turns the unit on or off.
- MODE: Selects operation mode (Cool, Heat, Dry, Fan).
- Temperature Setting: Adjustable from 16°C to 30°C using "△" and "▽" buttons.
- Fan Speed: Adjustable using the "FAN" button (not adjustable in dry mode).
- Swing Function:
- Left&right swing: Adjusts horizontal airflow direction. Continuous press for 2 seconds changes swing states.
- Up&down swing: Adjusts vertical airflow direction. Continuous press for 2 seconds changes swing states.
- TURBO Function: Activates super high-speed operation for quick cooling or heating.
- LIGHT Function: Controls the display light on the receiver board.
- TEMP Function: Switches temperature display between setting temperature, indoor ambient temperature, and outdoor ambient temperature.
- X-FAN Function: Dries the evaporator after cooling/dry mode to prevent mildew.
- Health Function: Activates anion generator (if equipped) for air purification.
- Air Function: Controls fresh air valve (if connected) to improve indoor air quality.
- SLEEP Function: Adjusts temperature for comfortable sleep (not available in auto and fan mode).
- I FEEL Function: Adjusts temperature based on the remote controller's detected temperature for optimal comfort.
- Timer ON/OFF: Sets specific times for the unit to turn on or off.
- Child Lock: Locks remote controller buttons to prevent accidental changes.
- Temperature Scale Switch: Switches between °C and °F (in unit off status).
- Energy-Saving Function: Available in cooling mode to optimize energy consumption.
- Absence Function: Maintains indoor ambient temperature above 0°C in heating mode to prevent freezing.
Indoor Unit ON/OFF Switch:
- Located on the unit. Push once to start, push again to stop.
- Operation mode defaults to AUTO (HEAT PUMP), 26°C, AUTO air flow rate.
Maintenance Features
General Maintenance:
- Before inspection or maintenance, turn off the power supply.
- Wipe indoor unit, outdoor unit, and remote controller with a dry soft cloth.
- Do not use volatile liquids (diluent, gasoline) for cleaning. Use a soft dry cloth or wet cloth dipped with neutral detergent.
- Do not spray or flush water directly onto the air conditioner.
Front Panel:
- Opening: Open the front panel, remove 4 screws, and dismount the front grille. Disengage clasps on the front case.
- Cleaning: Wipe with a soft cloth soaked in water. Only neutral detergent may be used. Dry in the shade after washing.
- Reattaching: Insert into grooves, attach string, and close slowly.
Air Filters:
- Removal: Open the front panel, slide stoppers inward, pull air filter upward.
- Cleaning: Wash with water or vacuum cleaner. If heavily soiled, use neutral detergent with lukewarm water and dry in the shade.
- Frequency: Recommended to clean air filters every week.
Titanium Apatite Photocatalytic Air-Purifying Filter:
- Renewal: Can be renewed by washing with water once every 6 months.
- Replacement: Recommended to replace once every 3 years.
- Disposal: Dispose of old filters as flammable waste.
Before a Long Idle Period:
- Operate in "FAN only" mode for several hours on a fine day to dry the inside.
- Turn off the breaker for the room air conditioner.
- Clean and reinstall air filters.
- Remove batteries from the remote controller.
Malfunction Analysis:
- The manual provides a table for common malfunction phenomena and their possible causes, such as:
- Unit not starting immediately after being turned off (overload protection delay).
- Odors (re-discharged odors from the room).
- Slight bicker sound (inner refrigerant flowing).
- Mist from air outlet (rapid cooling).
- Creak sound (panel expansion/contraction due to temperature change).
- Unit not running (power cut, supply not connected, circuit protector, voltage issues, timer settings, temperature settings, blocked vents, dirty air filter, open windows/doors, low air quantity, other heating sources).
- Wireless remote controller issues (changed batteries, abnormal disturbance, blockage, low battery voltage).
Service Center:
- Contact service center immediately if harsh sound, frequent fuse cuts, substance/water ingress, water leakage, overheating power cord, or odors occur.
