For the measurement
of
the hinge moments the controls must be removed from the
glider. For the determination of the hinge moment
(M
= P.
r)
the control hinge should be
as friction free as
possible. The force P can be measured with a spring balance. If the
values are exceeded, then the balance weight should be increased. Before a repair
of
the control surfaces and/or a replacement
of
the balance weight, the manufacturer
is
to
be contacted.
