Do you have a question about the Grundig GDKP2474BBSC and is the answer not in the manual?
This document is the user manual for a Grundig Hood, model GDKP2474BBSC. It provides comprehensive information on the product's safety, environmental instructions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
The Grundig Hood is designed to extract cooking fumes, odors, and vapors from the kitchen environment. It features an engine with multiple speed levels to accommodate varying cooking intensities, from normal conditions to strong odor and vapor condensation. The hood can operate in different modes, including standard speed levels, an intensive ventilation (Booster) mode for rapid extraction, and an air cleaning mode for long-term odor elimination at a low level. Some models also include an automatic mode that adjusts the extraction level based on kitchen air temperature. The hood is equipped with lamps to illuminate the cooking area, and for certain models, the lamp's illumination color can be adjusted.
The hood's external dimensions (height/width/depth) range from min. 735 to max. 1025/598/505 mm. It operates on a voltage/frequency of 220-240 V ~1N; 50 Hz. The total power consumption is a maximum of 300 W, and its suction power ranges from 700-720 m³/h. The diameter of the air outlet pipe is 120-150 mm.
The control panel offers different levels of operation depending on the model:
Technical specifications are subject to change without prior notice for product quality improvement. Values stated on product labels and documentation are obtained under laboratory conditions and may vary based on operational and environmental conditions.
Operating the Hood: To operate the hood, users touch the desired speed level key. The selected key will light up. Speed levels can be changed by touching other speed level keys. The hood will run for a maximum of 6 hours if no key is touched during operation. To turn off the hood, users touch the active speed level key or the On-Off/Speed 1 key again. Touching the On-Off/Speed 1 key with any function active (except the lamp) will cancel that function.
Intensive Ventilation Mode (Booster) (for models B and C): This mode is activated by pressing the Booster key once. It runs for a maximum of 10 minutes, with the Booster key lighting up. After 10 minutes, the hood automatically reverts to Speed 3, and the Speed 3 key lights up. If any speed key is touched during intensive ventilation mode, the hood returns to that speed level.
Air Cleaning Mode (for models B and C): Activated by touching the Speed 1 key for more than 3 seconds, this mode helps eliminate odors at a low level. The Speed 1 key flashes when active. It operates at Speed 1 for 10 minutes within each hour, then stops for 50 minutes, repeating for 24 hours unless switched off. This mode is automatically canceled if any key (except the lamp key) is touched.
Automatic Mode (for model C): This mode uses a sensor to measure kitchen and hob air temperatures, automatically adjusting the extraction level to equalize temperatures. It is activated by touching the Automatic mode key and remains active until the temperatures equalize, then switches off. It can be turned off early by touching the Automatic mode key again. If a temperature difference occurs even when the hob is not operating, the hood may start at Speed 2 or 3.
Operating the Lamp: The lamp is operated by touching the lamp key. For Models B and C, touching the key again within 1 minute of turning it on will set the lamp to low illumination; touching it after 1 minute will turn it off. The illumination lamps operate for a maximum of 12 hours.
Setting Lamp Illumination Colour (for models B and C): With the lamp on, touching the lamp key for more than 2 seconds changes the color shade. Subsequent touches within 2 seconds will cycle through the available shades. The chosen shade is automatically activated when the key is released. Color shade can only be changed when the lamp has high light intensity. The hood remembers the last set color shade in case of a power outage.
General Cleaning: Regular cleaning extends product life and reduces problems. Always disconnect the product from the electrical connection before maintenance to avoid electric shock. Avoid abrasive detergents, cleaning powders, creams, sharp objects, or steam cleaning products. The product should be cleaned after each use with dishwashing detergent, warm water, and a soft cloth or sponge, then dried. For stainless or inox surfaces, use a soft soapy cloth and liquid (non-scratching) detergent, wiping in one direction. Do not damage the sensors located on the backside of the glass cover (for Model C) during cleaning.
Aluminium Filter: These filters retain oil particles and should be cleaned once a month under normal usage. To clean, remove the filters, wash them in water with liquid detergent, and reinstall after drying. Aluminium filters may change color after washing, which is normal and does not require replacement. They can also be washed in a washing machine (max. 70 °C).
Carbon Filter (Usage without a flue): If the product is installed without a flue, carbon filters must be replaced every 4 months under normal use. They should never be washed. Failure to follow cleaning and replacement rules can cause a fire. Carbon filters can be obtained from Authorized Services.
Hood Lamp: In case of a lamp malfunction, contact a local dealer or Customer Service for replacement.
