Grundig TK46 - Preparation and Setup; Switching On and Off; Threading the Tape

Preperation :
First remove the top cover and open the folder of this booklet os ofl
position numbers ore stated in the figure on poge 3.
Place the tape recorder in such o. manner that sufficient fresh air may be
supplied to the moior by the grille provided for this purpose on the under-
side Of your set.
Take out the line cord from its case on bottom of your TK 46. Your tape
vecordar loft the factory set to 220 V / 50 cps. A. Before you plug in,
cheek that your local electricity supply is within this range. if the mains
vottaga selector of your TK 46 must be re-set, simple instructions for this
are contcined on page 38/39,
witching on end off :
For switching on turn the knob @ to the desired tape speed, The “ON*
position is indicated by the illuminated magic level indicotor @). Cutting
off from line is made by setting the knob to one of its positions “0”.
Tareoding the tepe
Two spools are supplied with your TK 46 one-fuli {by gxtra charge}, and
the other empty, The full spool fits on the left-hand spindle, the empty
one on the right.
Hold the full spool in your hand so thet the loose end {opprox. 30 cm} of
the tape hangs down on the left side of the spool, Now drop the spooi
‘onto the ieft-hond spindle, and turn it a little until it falls into place, and
eld securely by the ridges on the spindle. Now fit the empty spect onto
the right-hond spindle in the some woy.
The tape has now to be fastened to the empty spool. Make sure thet it
isn't twisted, insert it vertically into the sound chennel dropping it stroight
along the héod cover onto the top deck. Then slip the end into the slot
‘eovinig @ couple of inches free. Now {urn the empty spoo! counterclock-
wise (keeping your finger on the end of the tope) untit all the colored
leader tope is fully wound round the hub of the spool.
Atwoys check thot the shiny or printed side is facing the front of the TK 46.
Sct the position indicator @ to pos.000. Each new recording automatically
erases the previous one

Préparatifs
Durant te fonctionnement de l'appareil, il faut retirer le couvercle de fa
yolise et plocer l'appareil.de telle moniére que le moteur peut aspirer

svivre sur la figure fes emplacements des organes de commande dont les
chifires sont indiqués dans te texte suivant.

Avant de brancher voite oppareil, vérifier quel est le courant et la tension
de votre secteur. Le TK 46 est prévu pour fonctionner sur courant alternatif
50 Hz, et a sa sortie d'usine, if est mis sur la position 220 V. Si appareit
doit fonctionner sous une autre tension, voir page 38/39.

Mettez lo molette du sélecteur de vitessa @ sur la position correspondante

Mise en place de la bande
Une bobine pieine sera placée sur le support bobine de gauche et une
vide sur le support de droite. Déroulez una vingtaine de centimatces de
bande et introduire cell: bien droite et tendue, dons la fete d'intro-
duction, entre les capots de plastique. L'extrémité de la. bande sera placée
dons {a fente de la bobine de droite que l'on tournera d'un quart de tour
en sens inverse du sens horlogique. Le cdté coloré de la bande amorce
0u le cOlé giccé de la bande magnétique doit étre tourné vers l'extérieur.
Uextrémité de ta bande omorce verte dépassant de la fente de la bobine
doit étre aussi court que possible {enviton 1 cm). Tandis que Hon appuie
avec un doigt exirémité de io bande omorce contre fe dessus de la
bebine, on tourne celle-ci evec fa main pour enrouter lo bande jusqu‘au-
de fa partie métoilique servant au déclenchement de lerrét avie-
matique. Ajnsi, la bende se trouve solidement attachée 4 la bobine vic!
On remetira alors fe compteur de repérage @ & zéro (C90) en cppuyant
sur le bouton poussoir. Lors de fenregistrement, la bonde se trouve
