This document describes the Guardian Charging Station EU Standard, an electric vehicle charging device.

Function Description

The Guardian Charging Station is designed for charging electric vehicles according to the EU standard. It offers both single-phase and dual-phase wiring options and supports Mode 3 charging. The device can be operated using an RFID card for authentication or directly by plugging in the vehicle if an RFID card is not included in the package. For models with smart charging features, an accompanying APP can be used for operational instructions and to initiate charging.

Usage Features

Starting Charging:

  1. Pre-check: Before charging, inspect the charging cable and connector for damage, foreign objects, water ingress, or impurities.
  2. Connect: Connect the charging plug to the vehicle. The light strip on the station will turn green and flash slowly, indicating it's waiting to start.
  3. Authentication:
    • RFID Card: Swipe the RFID card close to the swipe area to start charging.
    • Plug-in and Charge: If no RFID card is provided, simply plug in the connector to the vehicle. After a successful connection, charging will begin.
    • Smart Charging (APP): For models with this feature, refer to the APP user guide to initiate charging via the application.
  4. Charging Indication: During charging, the blue and green lights will remain on.

Stopping Charging:

  1. RFID Card: Swipe the RFID card again to stop charging.
  2. Indicator Change: The charging equipment's light will turn green, indicating charging has stopped.
  3. Disconnect: Disconnect the charging plug from the charging port and close the flap.
  4. Storage: Properly hang the charging plug and wrap the cable around the holder.

Indicator Statuses:

  • Green light stays on: Standby mode. Next step: Connect the charging plug to the vehicle.
  • Green light flashing slowly: Vehicle-connector connected. Next step: Wait for the LED light to become green and flash quickly.
  • Green light flashing quickly: Waiting for charging. Next step: Swipe the RFID card to start charging.
  • Green and blue light stays on: Charging. Next step: Swipe the RFID card to stop charging.

Maintenance Features

Safety Precautions:

  • Read the instruction manual carefully before use to prevent bodily harm or injury.
  • Do not dismantle the product; incorrect assembly can cause damage, leakage, or water seepage.
  • Installation and maintenance must be performed by a competent electrician. Unqualified personnel should not attempt these operations.
  • Improper installation or repair can lead to potential hazards and increase fire risk.
  • Ensure the power supply is disconnected and switched off before any installation or maintenance.
  • Do not use with any charging adapters or converters.
  • Proper installation with a dedicated circuit breaker (MCB) and a residual current device (RCD) is mandatory.

Installation Notes:

  • Location: Consider cable length and user convenience. Avoid hazardous areas (electrical shock, flammable/explosive materials) and places prone to flooding.
  • Ventilation: Install in a well-ventilated area.
  • Obstructions: Ensure the installation location is clear of obstructions.
  • Wall Clearance: Maintain at least 50 cm distance around the charging equipment when installed on the wall.
  • Height: The central position of the charging pile should be at least 1.3 meters above the ground.

Installation Process:

  1. Tools: Impact drill (M8 drill bit), electric screwdriver, gradient. Mounting screws are included.
  2. Marking: Confirm installation position and mark it, ensuring the central position is at least 1.3 meters above the ground.
  3. Drilling: Compare the four locating holes on the hanging plate with the wall. Drill four 8mm diameter, 60mm deep holes and insert 8x60 expansion pipes.
  4. Fixing Hanging Plate: Fix the hanging plate to the wall using four M6x60 cross slot tapping screws corresponding to the expansion pipes.
  5. Wiring: Connect the power line in sequence at the wiring on the back of the charging pile. Diagrams are provided for single-phase and dual-phase wiring.
  6. Mounting Charger: Hang the charging pile (with incoming line connected) onto the hanging plate. Lock the charging pile and hanging plate with two M4x6 cross recessed pan head screws on both sides.

Troubleshooting: Faults should be tested and diagnosed by professional electricians. The manufacturer disclaims responsibility for damage or safety hazards caused by non-professional operation.

  • Leakage: Red light flashes 1 time. Action: Contact Customer Service.
  • CP Error: Red light flashes 2 times. Action: Contact Customer Service.
  • Overvoltage: Red light flashes 3 times. Action: Contact local Power Utility Company.
  • Undervoltage: Red light flashes 4 times. Action: Contact local Power Utility Company.
