Usage Features:
The hob offers a range of features to enhance the cooking experience:
- Touch Control Unit: The appliance is operated by pressing buttons, with functions confirmed by displays and audible sounds. The control panel includes:
- Key lock indicator
- Heater display
- Timer display
- Timer function cooking zone indicators
- Boost function
- On/Off button
- Smart pause function
- Key lock button
- Decrease heat setting/timer button
- Increase heat setting/timer button
- Timer selection button
- Heat Settings: Ranging from 0 (element off) to 9 (maximum heat), with intermediate settings for delicate warming (1-3), gentle simmering (4-5), reheating (6-7), and boiling/sautéing (8).
- Boost Function (P): Provides maximum power for faster boil times. It can temporarily exceed maximum power, activating integrated power management if necessary.
- Smart Pause: Reduces the power of all active burners to level 1 and displays "II". Deactivating Smart Pause returns heaters to their previous temperature level. If not deactivated, the cooktop switches off after 30 minutes.
- Timer Function:
- Minute Minder Timer (1-99 min): Can be set when cooking zones are off. A signal sounds when the timer reaches zero.
- Cooking Zone Timer (1-99 min): An independent timer can be programmed for each cooking zone, switching off the zone when the time runs down.
- Child Lock: Prevents accidental operation. Activated by simultaneously pressing increase and decrease heat setting buttons, then pressing increase again. "L" (LOCKED) appears on displays. Deactivated by switching on the hob, then simultaneously pressing increase and decrease heat setting buttons, then pressing decrease again.
- Key Lock: Sets the appliance in 'safe mode' during operation, preventing adjustments to heat settings. Only the On/Off button remains functional. Activated by pressing the key lock button for at least 2 seconds.
- Safety Switch-Off Function: Cooking zones automatically switch off if the heat setting has not been modified for a specified duration (e.g., 6 hours for settings 1-2, 1.5 hours for settings 6-9).
- Residual Heat Indicator (H): Displays "H" on the cooking zone display until the surface temperature is safe to touch after the zone is switched off.
- Cookware Compatibility: Requires thick, flat, smooth-bottomed cookware of steel, enamelled steel, cast iron, or stainless steel. Cookware is suitable if a magnet sticks to its bottom. Incorrect cookware placement or material can lead to reduced performance or noise.
Maintenance Features:
Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the appliance's efficiency and safety.
- General Cleaning:
- Always switch off the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Use cleaning materials recommended by the manufacturer.
- Avoid caustic, abrasive, or particle-containing cleaners, rough wire wool, or hard tools, as they can damage surfaces (glass, enamel, painted parts).
- Clean up liquid overflows immediately to prevent damage.
- Do not use steam cleaners.
- Ceramic Glass Cleaning:
- Use a cream or liquid cleaner for vitroceramic glass, then rinse and dry thoroughly with a dry cloth.
- Clean spilt sugary or sweet foods immediately after the glass has cooled.
- Clean dust with a wet cloth.
- Note that colour changes to the ceramic glass do not affect its structure or durability and can be caused by spilt food, incorrect dishes, or wrong cleaning materials.
- If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid electric shock and call for service.
- Stainless Steel Parts Cleaning (if applicable):
- Clean regularly with a soft cloth soaked in water, then dry thoroughly.
- Do not clean while hot.
- Avoid leaving acidic substances (vinegar, coffee, milk, salt, lemon, tomato juice) on stainless steel for long periods.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a table of common problems, possible causes, and solutions (e.g., checking fuses, drying controls, switching off child lock, using suitable pans). For persistent issues, contact an authorised service person.
- Transport: Use original packaging and follow transport signs. Tape independent parts to prevent damage. If original packaging is unavailable, prepare a carriage box to protect external surfaces.
