Precautions for Handling Units for Use with R410A

The!old!refrigerant!and!refrigerator!oil!in!the!e"isting!#i#ing
contain!a!large!amount!of!chlorine$!which!will!cause!the
refrigerator!oil!in!the!new!unit!to!deteriorate%
R410A!is!a!high&#ressure!refrigerant$!and!the!use!of!the
e"isting!#i#ing!ma'!result!in!(ursting%
)ee#!the!inner!and!outer!surfaces!of!the!#i#es!clean!and
free!of!contaminants!such!as!sulfur$!o"ides$!dust*dirt!sha+ing
#articles$oils$and!moisture%
Contaminants!inside!the!refrigerant!#i#ing!will!cause!the
refrigerant!oil!to!deteriorate%
Use!a!+acuum!#um#!with!a!re+erse&flow!check!+al+e%
If!other!t'#es!of!+al+es!are!used$!the!+acuum!#um#!oil!will
flow!(ack!into!the!refrigerant!c'cle!and!cause!the!refrigerator
oil!to!deteriorate%
o!not!use!the!following!tools!that!ha+e!(een!used!with!the
con+entional!refrigerants%!Pre#are!tools!that!are!for!e"clusi+e
use!with!R410A%
,-auge!manifold$!charging!hose$!gas!leak!detector$
re+erse&flow!check!+al+e$!refrigerant!charge!(ase$+acuum
gauge$!and!refrigerant!reco+er'!e.ui#ment%/
If!refrigerant!and*or!refrigerant!oil!left!on!these!tools!are
mi"ed!in!with!R410$!or!if!water!is!mi"ed!with!R410A$!it!will
cause!the!refrigerant!to!deteriorate%
2ince!R410A!does!not!contain!chlorine$!gas&leak!detectors
for!con+entional!refrigerators!will!not!work%
2tore!the!#i#ing!to!(e!used!during!installation!indoors$!and
kee#!(oth!ends!of!the!#i#ing!sealed!until!immediatel'!(efore
(ra3ing%,kee#!el(ows!and!other!5oints!wra##ed!in!#lastic%/
If!dust$!dirt$!or!water!enters!the!refrigerant!c'cle$!it!ma'
cause!the!oil!in!the!unit!to!deteriorate!or!ma'!cause!the
com#ressor!to!malfunction%
A!large!amount!of!mineral!oil!will!cause!the!refrigerating
machine!oil!to!deteriorate%
Use!a!small!amount!of!ester!oil$!ether!oil$!or!alk'l(en3ene
to!coat!flares!and!flange!connections%
Use!li.uid!refrigerant!to!charge!the!s'stem%
Charge!the!unit!with!gas!refrigerant!will!cause!the!!refrigerant
in!the!c'linder!to!change!its!com#osition!and!will!lead!to
a!dro#!in!#erformance
o!not!use!a!charging!c'linder%
The!use!of!charging!c'linder!will!change!the!com#osition
of!the!refrigerant!and!lead!to!#ower!loss%
E"ercise!s#ecial!care!when!handling!the!tools%
An!introduction!of!foreign!o(5ects!such!as!dust$!dirt!or
water!into!the!refrigerant!c'cle!will!cause!the!refrigerating
machine!oil!to!deteriorate%
6nl'!use!R410A!refrigerant%
The!use!of!refrigerants!containing!chlorine,i%e%!R77/!will
cause!the!refrigerant!to!deteriorate%
Before Installing the Unit
o!not!install!the!unit!in!a!#lace!where!there!is!a!#ossi(ilit'
of!flamma(le!gas!leak%
8eaked!gas!accumulated!around!the!unit!ma'!start!a!fire%
o!not!use!the!unit!to!#reser+e!food$!animals$!#lants$!artifacts$
or!for!other!s#ecial!#ur#oses%
The!unit!is!not!designed!to!#ro+ide!ade#uate!conditions
to!#reser+e!the!.ualit'!of!these!items%
o!not!use!the!unit!in!an!unusual!en+ironment
The!use!of!the!unit!in!the!#resence!of!a!large!amount!of
oil$!steam$!acid$!alkaline!sol+ents!or!s#ecial!t'#es!of!s#ra's
ma'!lead!to!a!remarka(le!dro#!in!#erformance!and*or
malfunction!and!#resents!a!risk!of!electric!shock$!smoke$
or!fire%
The!#resence!of!organic!sol+ents$!corroded!gas!,such!as
ammonia$sulfur!com#ounds$and!acid!ma'!cause!gas!or
