This document is an operation and installation manual for a CEILING CONCEALED TYPE AIR CONDITIONER, specifically the H-MRV series, which is an Inverter Multi-Split system. It covers various models including Series 07, 09-21, and 24.
Function Description
The device is a ceiling-concealed air conditioner designed for indoor use. Its primary function is to provide cooling and heating to a room, ensuring an evenly circulated air supply. The concealed design allows for discreet integration into the ceiling, with only the air outlet grille visible in some configurations. The system utilizes an inverter multi-split technology, which typically allows for more efficient operation by adjusting compressor speed to match demand, rather than cycling on and off.
Important Technical Specifications
- Models Covered: Series 07, 09-21, and 24. Specific model numbers include AE072FCAKA, AE092FCAKA, AE122FCAKA, AE142FCAKA, AE182FCAKA, AE212FCAKA, and AE242FCAKA.
- Installation Height: The indoor unit installation height must be at least 2.5m.
- Connection Pipe Length: The maximum length of the connection pipe is 50m.
- Level Difference: The maximum difference in levels between the indoor and outdoor units is 30m.
- Refrigerant: The system uses R22 refrigerant.
- Drain Pipe: The drain pipe size is Ø19.05mm² (3/4") PVC pipe. It must have a downhill grade of 1% or more and be thermally insulated. The horizontal length of the drain pipe should be less than 20m, with supports every 1.5-2m for longer pipes.
- Air Duct: This type of unit uses a circular air duct with a caliber of 180mm.
- Static Pressure: The indoor units in this series are designed for middle static pressure (50 Pa external static pressure).
- Pipe Expansion Dimensions:
- 6.35 mm (1/4"): 0.8-1.5 mm
- 9.52 mm (3/8"): 1.0-1.8 mm
- 12.7 mm (1/2"): 1.2-2.0 mm
- 15.88 mm (5/8"): 1.4-2.2 mm
- Installing Torque for Pipe Connections:
- Ø6.35 (1/4"): 11.8 N-m (1.2 kgf-m)
- Ø9.52 (3/8"): 24.5 N-m (2.5 kgf-m)
- Ø12.70 (1/2"): 49.0 N-m (5.0 kgf-m)
- Ø15.88 (5/8"): 78.4 N-m (8.0 kgf-m)
- Power Supply: Must be of rated voltage and connected with a special electrical supply circuit, including an earth line and an electric leakage breaker.
Usage Features
- Concealed Design: The unit is designed to be hidden within the ceiling, offering an aesthetic advantage for interior spaces.
- Airflow Direction Adjustment: Users can adjust the desired airflow direction.
- Temperature Control: The system allows for setting an appropriate room temperature. The manual advises against setting temperatures too cool or too warm for health and energy consumption reasons.
- Timer Mode: The TIMER mode enables users to pre-set comfortable room temperatures for specific times, such as waking up or returning home.
- Return Air Configuration: Series 09-21 models are shipped with a back-side return air box but can be configured for down-side return air during installation, depending on user needs.
- Self-Protection Function: The system has a self-protection function that prevents immediate restarts after being turned off, requiring a 3-minute wait.
- Automatic Mode Switching: During COOL operation, the unit may automatically switch to FAN mode to prevent frost accumulation on the heat exchanger, returning to COOL mode shortly after.
- Defrost Operation: In HEAT mode, the outdoor unit may generate water or steam due to defrosting operations.
Maintenance Features
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a troubleshooting section for common issues like water flow sounds, "Pi-Pa" sounds, smells, mist/steam during operation, and the unit not starting. It differentiates between normal operational sounds/phenomena and actual faults.
- Fault Occurrences: A guide is provided for "Poor cooling or heating" and "Poor cooling," prompting checks for controller adjustments, obstructions, open doors/windows, heat sources, direct sunlight, and room occupancy.
- Professional Service: For persistent abnormal operation, frequent fuse/breaker trips, water leakage, or abnormal sounds, users are instructed to turn off the air conditioner and contact an authorized service center.
- Installation Check: After installation, a trial run is mandatory to verify proper operation, including temperature regulation, correct installation location, power cord connection, gas leakage, wiring, voltage, noise levels, drainage, terminal connections, pipe insulation, and secure mounting.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Users are advised to stop operation and shut down the manual power switch before cleaning and maintenance. The manual warns against cleaning with water directly.
- Refrigerant Supplementation: The manual specifies that refrigerant supplementation (R22) must be done according to the outdoor unit's installation instructions, using a measuring meter for precise amounts. Overfilling or underfilling can cause compressor faults.
- Insulation Treatment: Both gas and liquid side pipes require insulation treatment to prevent dew generation during cooling operation. The insulating material on the gas side must withstand temperatures above 120°C. The indoor unit pipe connection part also needs insulation.
- Access Port: An access port must be provided during the installation of the indoor unit for future maintenance.
