  If your HAMPTON BAY Fan isn't starting, here are a few things to check: First, check the main and branch circuit fuses or breakers. If applicable, ensure the wall switch is in the on position. Inspect the line wire connections to the fan and the switch wire connections in the switch housing. Check the battery in the transmitter and make sure you are within the normal operating range of 10-20 feet. Ensure the dip switch settings are the same on both the transmitter and receiver. Remember to turn off the power supply before checking the dip switch settings.

  A noisy HAMPTON BAY Fan can be caused by several factors. Make sure all motor housing screws are snug. Also, check that the screws attaching the fan blade bracket to the motor hub are tight. Ensure wire nut connections aren't rattling against each other or the inside of the switch housing. If you're using a light kit, tighten the screws securing the glassware and ensure the light bulbs are secure. The canopy should also have a small gap and not touch the ceiling. Finally, check that your outlet box is secure and rubber isolator pads were used between the mounting plate and outlet box. New fans may also have a 'breaking in' period of about 24 hours during which the noise disappears.
