What to do if my HAMPTON BAY FC120-CARL will not start?

If your HAMPTON BAY Fan isn't starting, begin by checking the main and branch circuit fuses or breakers. Also, inspect the line wire connections to the fan and the switch wire connections within the switch housing to ensure they are properly connected.

Why is my HAMPTON BAY Fan so noisy?
    • R
      Ryan LewisAug 22, 2025
If your HAMPTON BAY Fan is making noise, there are several things you can check: * Make sure all motor housing screws are snug. * Check that the screws attaching the fan blade bracket to the motor hub are tight. * Confirm that wire nut connections aren't rattling against each other or the switch housing's interior wall. * If you're using a Ceiling Fan light kit, tighten the screws securing the glassware and ensure the light bulbs are secure. * Ensure the canopy is a short distance from the ceiling and not touching it. * Verify your outlet box is secure and rubber isolator pads were used between the mounting plate and outlet box. Also, allow the fan a 24-hour “breaking in” period, as most new fan noises disappear during this time.

How to fix a HAMPTON BAY FC120-CARL that wobbles?
    • S
      Sarah KimAug 31, 2025
To address a wobbling HAMPTON BAY Fan, start by ensuring all blade and blade arm screws are secure. Most wobble issues arise from unequal blade levels. To check this: 1. Select a point on the ceiling above the tip of one blade. 2. Measure the distance from the center of each blade to that point on the ceiling, rotating the fan for each blade. 3. Any deviation should be within 1/8 inch. Run the fan for ten minutes. If the issue persists, contact Customer Service for a balancing kit.
