Why does the red light turn on and the alarm sound when I raise someone using the Handicare Medical Equipment?
    • R
      Rachel DiazAug 2, 2025
If the red indicator light on the underside of the Handicare Medical Equipment lift turns red, and a loud alarm sounds when lifting someone, it means the batteries are low and need charging. Refer to the section of this manual titled “Charging the lift”. Charge the lift for at least one hour and then try to raise/lower the carry bar. If this does not correct the problem then contact your local authorized dealer immediately so that the lift can be checked to ensure proper continued operation.

What to do if the Handicare Medical Equipment carry bar doesn't move up or down?
    • C
      Carl LloydAug 7, 2025
If the carry bar of your Handicare Medical Equipment lift isn't moving up or down, even with the airline properly connected, check the indicator light on the control panel under the lift. It should be GREEN. Try pressing the ON button, the UP/DOWN arrows, or any colored button on the hand control to activate the lift and turn the indicator light GREEN. If it still doesn't work, the batteries might be low and need charging. Refer to the section of this manual titled “Charging the lift”. Charge the lift for at least one hour and then try to raise/lower the carry bar. If the emergency lowering has been used then the UP and DOWN functions will not operate. DO NOT use the lift. Contact your local authorized dealer immediately so that the lift can be checked to ensure proper continued operation.

How to fix reversed hand control functionality on Handicare PRISM MEDICAL C450 Medical Equipment?
    • A
      Anna GutierrezAug 11, 2025
If the hand control buttons on your Handicare Medical Equipment are reversed, the lift strap is spooled backward, or pulling 'E Down' moves the lift strap 'UP', follow these steps: 1) Press the “UP” button on hand control, strap should start moving out of the lift, continue pressing “UP” button, strap will spool out fully and will start winding in correct orientation. Now the “UP” button will move strap in up direction. 2) If the unit is equipped with RTC feature, activate the RTC function by pressing and holding “Left and Right” buttons together, the strap will move in downwards direction till it reaches the lowest limit, once it reaches the lowest limit it will start moving up again, correcting the orientation of strap.

What to do if Handicare PRISM MEDICAL C450 Medical Equipment lift doesn't go down but the green light is on?
    • D
      Dillon JuarezAug 15, 2025
If the green light is on but your Handicare Medical Equipment lift won't go down, the built-in slack tape detector might be too sensitive. Try applying weight to the carry bar while pressing the DOWN button. If this only fixes it temporarily, contact your local authorized dealer so that the lift can be checked to ensure proper continued operation.

Why are the Handicare Medical Equipment hand control buttons not working correctly?
    • B
      Brian GarciaAug 20, 2025
If the hand control buttons on your Handicare Medical Equipment aren't working as they should (for example, the UP button causes a traverse movement), it could be that the airline tubing hasn't been connected correctly. Refer to the section of this manual titled “Attaching the airline and hand control to the lift”. If this does not correct the problem then contact your local authorized dealer immediately so that the lift can be checked to ensure proper continued operation.

Why is the lift strap fraying on my Handicare PRISM MEDICAL C450 Medical Equipment?
    • P
      Patricia JohnsonAug 28, 2025
If one side of the lift tape (strap) on your Handicare Medical Equipment is fraying after use, ensure the lift is always directly above the person being lifted, especially with motorized traversing lifts. Refer to the section titled “Basics in transferring an individual” for correct lift positioning. If fraying still continues then contact your local authorized dealer immediately so that the lift can be checked to ensure proper continued operation.
