Installation and Setup: System Setup Menu
System Configuration
The Citation 7.0 is shipped with it’s settings configured to a particular system, as outlined in Appendix #??. If your
system differs from these settings, it will be necessary to instruct the system to adapt to the specific equipment that will
be in use. This is done through the use of the remote control and the menu system. Even if no changes are required,
running through these menus will give you on opportunity to become familiar with the operation of the menu and
control system should changes become necessary at a later date.
Before starting the System Configuration, you need to be familiar with the way that the Citation 7.0’s remote control
and menu systems operate. Information about these systems may be found on page #xx.
In order to start the set-up, first plug the Citation 7.0 into a non-switched AC wall outlet. Once power has been
connected, power up the unit using the Master Power switch on the rear panel. Press it down so that a red line is
visible at the top of the rocker switch. You will also note that a small green LED will illuminate below the Citation
nameplate on the front panel.
If you are using a video display such as a TV set, monitor or projector, turn that unit on. If necessary, change the input
so that the composite or “S” video input connected to the Citation 7.0 is chosen. Finally, turn the unit on using the front
panel power switch or the power button on the remote control. When the unit is turned on you will note that the video
display will display the Citation 7.0 model number and a “Version Number”, along with an “Owner” name. (You will
later be able to change this name to your own, if desired.) The two line display on the front panel will read “Citation
7.0” on the top line, and a “Version” number. This “Version” number refers to the software that is installed, and you
should note it on the Systems Setting Sheet in Appendix #xx. At the same time, the green front panel LED will
extinguish, and the Citation name will turn blue. The two line display will briefly display a “PROCESSING” message.
(Figure #XX here for both on screen and front panel display.)
After a brief pause, the video screen will display a status message at the top two lines, and then go blank. The front
panel display will show a the system’s input, mode and volume, and the front panel indicators will light up.
Systems Setup
The first step in an installation is to enter settings that affect the entire system. These global parameters remain the
same regardless of the input or mode selected.
Press the “System Setup” button on the remote to bring up the status menu. The screen will display the factory preset
conditions, or the set up configuration that may have been programmed for your unit by an installer. (Figure #xx).
If the settings are acceptable, or if they have already been entered by a custom installer, press the “Exit/OK” button to
return to normal. If any item needs to be changed, proceed to the next steps.
