tanceshouldbealeasttwicetheheightofthe
largesttreesinthefellingarea.Duringbucking
operations,keepaminimumdistanceof15feet
betweenworkers.
Alwayscut withbothfeeton solidgroundto
preventbeingpulledoffbalance.
Donotcutabovechestheight,asasawheldhigh-
erisdifficulttocontrolagainstkickbackforces.
Donotfelltreesnearelectricalwiresorbuild-
ings.Leavethisoperationforprofessionals.
Cutonlywhenvisibilityandlightareadequate
for you to see clearly.

Closely check for broken or dead branches,
whichcouldfallwhilecuttinganddonotcut
nearbuildingsorelectricalwiresifyoudonot
knowthe directionof treefall.Do not cut at
nightorduringbadweatherconditions,suchas
rain,snow,orstrongwinds,whichcanreduce
visibilityandcontrolofthechainsaw.Ifthetree
youarefellingmakescontactwithanyutility
line,youshoulddiscontinueuseofthechain
sawandimmediatelynotifytheutilitycompany.
Failuretofollowtheseinstructionscouldresult
indeathorseriouspersonalinjury.
Whenfellingatree,itisveryimportantthatyou
closelyfollowthesewarningsandinstructionsto
preventpossibledeathorseriouspersonalinjury.
Donotcutdowntreeshavinganextremeleanor
largetreeswithrottenlimbs,loosebark,orhol-
lowtrunks.Havethesetreespushedordragged
downwithheavyequipment,thencutthemup.
Donotcuttreesnearelectricalwiresorbuildings.
Checkthetreefordamagedordeadbranches
thatcouldfallandhityouduringfelling.
