OPERATION

APPLICATIONS

Cuttingall types ofwood products (lumber,plywood,
paneling,compositionboard,andhardwood)
WARNING:
Never use abrasive cut-off wheels of any kind with
thissaw.Useofnonwoodcuttingbladescanresultin
propertydamageorseriouspersonalinjury.
INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY PACK
See Figure 3, page 12.
Insertthebatterypackintothebatteryportasshown.
Makesurethelatchonthebatterypacksnapsintoplace
andthebatterypackissecuredintheproductbefore
beginningoperation.
Depress thelatch and pull torelease and remove the
batterypack.

manualsforyourbatterypackandcharger.
WARNING:
Battery tools are always in operating condition. Lock
the switch when not in use or carrying at your side,
wheninstallingorremovingthebatterypack,andwhen
installingorremovingbladesandaccessories.
KICKBACK
See Figures 4 - 7, pages 12 and 13.
Kickbackoccurswhenthebladestallsrapidlyandthesaw
isdrivenbacktowardsyou.Bladestallingiscausedbyany
actionwhichpinchesthebladeinthewood.
DANGER:
Releaseswitchimmediatelyifbladebindsorsawstalls.
Kickbackcouldcauseyoutolosecontrolofthesaw.
Lossofcontrolcanleadtoseriousinjury.
To guard against kickback, avoid dangerous practices
such as the following:
Settingbladedepthincorrectly.
Sawingintoknotsornailsinworkpiece.
Twistingthebladewhilemakingacut.
Makingacutwithadull,gummedup,orimproperlyset
blade.
Supportingtheworkpieceincorrectly.
Forcingacut.
Cuttingwarpedorwetlumber.
Operatingthetoolincorrectlyormisusingthetool.
To lessen the chance of kickback, follow these safety
practices:
Keepthebladeatthecorrectdepthsetting.Thedepth
settingshouldnotexceed1/4in.belowthematerialbeing
cut.
Inspecttheworkpieceforknotsornailsbeforecutting.
Neversawintoaknotornail.
Make straight cuts. Always use a straightedge guide
whenripcutting.Thishelpspreventtwistingtheblade.
Useclean,sharp,andproperlysetblades.Nevermake
cutswithdullblades.
Supporttheworkpieceproperlybeforebeginningacut.
Usesteady, evenpressure when makinga cut.Never
forceacut.
Donotcutwarpedorwetlumber.
Holdthesawfirmlywithbothhandsandkeepyourbody
inabalancedpositionsoastoresisttheforcesifkickback
shouldoccur.
