SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES
Checktheworkareabeforeeachuse.Removeallobjects
suchasrocks,brokenglass,nails,wire,orstringwhich
canbethrownorbecomeentangledintheedgerblade.
Besureallguardsareproperlyandsecurelyattached.
Replacedullorwornblade;donotattempttosharpen.
Use this edger for edging along sidewalks, driveways,
flowerbeds,andsimilarareas.Donotuseforanyother
purpose.
Bethoroughlyfamiliar with thecontrols.Know how to
stoptheunitanddisengagethecontrolsquickly.
Donotusetheedgeronorneargraveledsurfaces.
Makeyourselffamiliarwiththeareayouareedging.Be
awareofunevensidewalksandholesintheterrainaswell
asothersimilarhazardousconditions(example:wireor
wireropewhichcanbreakoffandbecomeadangerous
projectile).Alwayspushtheedgerattachmentslowlyover
roughground.
Donotattempttoremovecutmaterialnorholdmaterial
tobecutwhentheengineisrunningorwhenthecutting
bladeismoving.
Keephandsandfeetawayfromthecuttingarea.
Alwayskeepyourrighthandontherearhandleandyour
lefthandonthefronthandlewhenthebladeisrotating.
A coasting blade can cause injury while it continues to
spinaftertheengineisstoppedorthrottletriggerreleased.
Maintain propercontrol until the blade has completely
stoppedrotating.
Check blade nut for tightness before operating the
attachment.
Improperassemblycancreateadangeroussituation.
Neverstandorhaveanypartofyourbodyinlinewiththe
pathoftheedgerblade.
Iftheedgerstrikesanytypeofforeignobject:
a)Stoptheedgerandremovethesparkplugwire,discon-
nectfromthepowersupplyorremovethebatterypack.
b)Inspectfordamagetotheedgerattachment.
c)Correctdamagebeforeusingtheedgerattachment.
Failuretodosocancauseseriousinjury.
Always stoptheengine ormotorand removethe spark
plugwire,disconnectfromthepowersupplyorremovethe
batterypackbeforeattemptingtoremoveanyobstruction
caughtorjammedintheblade,installingattachment,or
makinganyadjustments.
StoreIdleApplianceIndoors—Whennotinuse,product
shouldbestoredindoorsinadryandhighorlockedup
place—outofthereachofchildren.
Savetheseinstructions.Refertothemfrequentlyanduse
themtoinstructotherswhomayusethisproduct.Ifyou
loansomeonethisproduct,loanthemtheseinstructions
alsotopreventmisuseoftheproductandpossibleinjury.
