Guided Tour - VX3500 Front Panel

Passive Input jack

Connect passive bass guitars to this standard 1/4" jack. High impedance input sensitivity of 20mV.

Active Input jack

Connect active bass guitars to this 1/4" jack. High impedance input sensitivity of 60mV.

Pre-Amp A (Tube) control

Adjusts tube-simulating preamplification. Avoid maximum settings to prevent distortion.

Compression control

Adjusts compression amount (peak reduction) and ratio from 2:1 to infinity.

Graphic Equalizer

Ten sliders adjust 10 frequency bands by +/-15 dB for tonal shaping.

Master Volume control

Controls the overall output volume of the amplifier.

Speaker output

Connects to the internal 4-ohm speaker system. External speakers require disconnecting internal ones.

Setting Up and Using the VX3500

Initial Control Settings

Set volume to 0, pre-amps to 5, compression off, EQ bypass, contour center.

Setting Output Level

Maximize bass output, slowly increase Master Volume to desired level.

Graphic Equalizer Adjustment

Use the ten-band graphic equalizer sliders to fine-tune tonal response.

Compression Operation

Activate and adjust the Compression control for dynamic range management.
