Overview

The NERF Pro GelFire blaster is a high-performance toy designed for recreational use, featuring a unique gel-round firing mechanism. It offers both semi-automatic and fully-automatic firing modes, allowing for versatile gameplay. The blaster is designed for users aged 14 and up, emphasizing safety with required eyewear and specific instructions for round preparation and blaster maintenance.

Function Description:

The NERF Pro GelFire blaster operates by firing hydrated gel rounds. These rounds are prepared by soaking them in clean tap water for several hours until they expand to their optimal size. Once hydrated, the rounds are loaded into a hopper, which then feeds them into the blaster's firing mechanism. The blaster is powered by a rechargeable LiPo battery, ensuring consistent performance during play. Users can select between semi-automatic mode, which fires one round per trigger pull, and fully-automatic mode, which fires continuously as long as the trigger is depressed. A trigger lock is included for safety, preventing accidental firing when not in use. The blaster features a customizable design with attachable and removable barrel and stock components, allowing users to personalize their setup.

Usage Features:

  1. Round Hydration: The blaster uses specialized gel rounds that require hydration before use. Users are instructed to open a packet of rounds and pour them into a container with clean tap water, recommending at least 0.5 gallons (2 liters) of water per 5,000 rounds. For partial packets, the same amount of water per round is advised. The rounds should be fully submerged and allowed to hydrate for approximately 3-4 hours until they are fully expanded. Over-hydration is not possible, and under-hydration can affect performance. Any unused hydrated rounds should be discarded.
  2. Battery Charging and Installation: The blaster is powered by a rechargeable 7.4V 500mAh LiPo battery. To charge, the battery is removed from the blaster by squeezing tabs and sliding it out. A USB-A to USB-C charging cable is then connected to the battery charger port and a USB-A wall charger (not included). Charging takes approximately 2 hours, indicated by a steady light that turns off when fully charged. A flashing light indicates a charging issue, prompting users to unplug and replug the cable. For optimal performance, the battery should be fully charged before each battle and recharged when the rate of fire noticeably declines. The battery should be stored outside of and separate from the blaster.
  3. Hopper Loading: To load the blaster, the cap is removed from the hopper, and hydrated rounds are poured in. It is crucial to drain all water from the hopper before attaching it to the blaster. The hopper is then twisted onto the blaster with a 1/4 turn to lock it securely in place, ensuring it is attached firmly before turning the blaster right side up.
  4. Firing Modes: The blaster offers two firing modes, selected via a mode selector switch:
    • Semi-auto: Fires one round per trigger pull. The selector light flashes in this mode.
    • Full-auto: Fires continuously while the trigger is depressed. The selector light remains steady in this mode. The selector should always be turned to OFF when the blaster is not in use, indicated by the selector light being off.
  5. Customization: The blaster features modular components for customization. The barrel can be attached or removed by twisting it into or out of place. The stock can be extended by pressing both stock releases and pulling it out, and retracted by pressing the stock releases and pushing it in.
  6. Safety Precautions: Users are warned to avoid aiming at eyes or face and are required to wear the included protective eyewear for all players and bystanders within range. Only official NERF GelFire Rounds should be used, hydrated with clean tap water only, and never frozen or modified. The blaster itself should not be modified. Impact from rounds may cause temporary marks on skin. The product is for ages 14 and up and is not a toy. Users are advised to read instructions for important safety information. Additionally, users must comply with all laws regarding the use and possession of such products, especially in public or restricted areas. The product should not be altered to resemble a firearm, as this is dangerous and potentially illegal. Rounds should not be eaten, kept away from pets, and may stain.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Blaster Storage: Before storing the blaster, the battery should be removed and stored separately. The trigger lock should be engaged to prevent accidental firing.
  2. Cleaning: Prior to storage, it is essential to clean any NERF Pro GelFire round residue from the hopper feed and barrel. A long, soft, and clean item, such as a cotton swab, can be used to clear debris. The blaster can be cleaned externally with a damp cloth or a soft, clean, dry item.
  3. Battery Care: The rechargeable battery should be regularly examined for damage to the cord, plug, enclosure, and other parts. If any damage is found, the charger should not be used until repaired. The battery terminals should not be short-circuited. The battery should not be disassembled, crushed, heated above 45°C (113°F), or incinerated, and should be disposed of according to local recycling and waste regulations. It should not be used near heat sources like fire.
