The Hawk X90 v5 is an intelligent alarm immobilizer system designed for motorcycles and scooters, providing comprehensive security against theft and unauthorized use. The system employs a dual-layered approach to security: a loud siren to deter intruders and an engine immobilisation system to prevent the vehicle from being started.
The core function of the Hawk X90 v5 is to secure your motorcycle or scooter. It features two military-grade encrypted LCD remote transmitters for convenient control. The main unit integrates remote start capabilities, allowing you to start the engine without a key. A dual-zone HAWKGUARD shock sensor and a built-in tilt sensor detect disturbances, triggering the alarm. An LED indicator provides visual feedback on the system's status. The system includes a built-in engine immobiliser relay, a powerful 125db siren, and a universal wiring harness for installation.
The Hawk X90 v5 offers several user-friendly features for arming, disarming, and managing the security of your vehicle:
Normal Arming Mode: To arm the system, turn the ignition off and press the arm button on the remote. The indicators will flash once, a single audible bleep will sound, the LED will start flashing, and the LCD remote fob will bleep once. The system enters arming status after 5 seconds, displaying a lock icon on the remote screen. If the motorcycle is slightly moved, the alarm will chirp, indicators will flash 5 times, and the remote fob will flash a hammer icon and vibrate. If a hard movement occurs after 10 seconds, the full alarm will sound for 30 seconds, and the engine will be completely immobilised.
Silent Arming/Disarming: Press the arm button twice to arm the system silently. The lights will flash once, and the LCD remote fob will bleep, displaying an "X" icon. In silent arm status, the siren will not bleep.
Disarming the Alarm System: Press the disarm button. The indicators will flash twice with two audible bleeps, and the LCD remote will bleep twice, displaying an unlock icon to confirm.
Arming Reminder: If the motorcycle is parked and the owner leaves for 8 seconds without arming, the system will sound the siren 3 times, flash the indicators 3 times, and the LCD remote will bleep, flash a lock icon, and vibrate to remind the owner to arm the system.
Auto-Rearm: If the disarm button is pressed but the engine is not started within 25 seconds, the system will automatically re-arm. The LCD remote fob will sound "Du" and vibrate (in silent arm mode, the siren will not sound).
Emergency Key Reset: If the remote control is lost, the owner can disarm the system by turning the ignition from OFF to ON 10 times repeatedly, leaving the last sequence to Ignition ON for at least 2 seconds. The system will disarm automatically. To exit this mode, press the disarm button on the LCD remote fob. Code learning mode also exits emergency key reset mode.
Tilt / Shock Sensor Warning: During the first stage of a shock sensor trigger in alarm mode, the siren will sound 5 times, and the indicators will flash 5 times. The engine will be immobilised immediately. The LCD remote fob will bleep 5 times and vibrate with flashing shock and headlight icons. This warning occurs only once. If the alarm is triggered within 10 seconds after the first stage, the system enters full alarm mode. The siren activates for 30 seconds, indicators flash for 30 seconds, and the engine is immobilised. The LCD remote fob will bleep for 30 seconds, vibrate 8 times, and display flashing shock and headlight icons. After 30 seconds, the system automatically re-arms. In silent arming mode, the siren will not sound.
Bike Finder/Panic: Press the bike finder button once with the ignition in the OFF position. The indicators will flash for 10 seconds, and the siren will bleep for 10 seconds. Press the bike finder button again to exit this mode.
Silent Bike Finder/Panic: Press and hold the bike finder button. The indicators will flash continuously without the siren bleeping. Press any button to exit this mode.
Remote Start: Press the remote start button twice within three seconds. A remote engine icon will appear on the LCD remote fob, which will bleep 3 times. The engine will start automatically, allowing for non-key driving and warm-up. This can be repeated if the engine does not start due to cold weather or slow rotation. The engine will run for 10 minutes. To turn off the remote start function, press the remote start button once.
Important Safety Warning for Remote Start: Never operate the system in an enclosed or partially enclosed area without ventilation (e.g., a garage). It is the user's responsibility to keep all remote control transmitters out of reach of children to prevent unintentional remote starts. A carbon monoxide detector must be installed in or about any living area adjacent to the vehicle, and all doors leading from adjacent living areas to the vehicle storage area must remain closed. Never remotely start the bike with it in gear or with the keys in the ignition. The neutral safety feature of the bike should be periodically checked to ensure it does not remotely start while in gear. If it does, cease remote start operation immediately and consult an authorized dealer.
Anti Hotwire: If the system is in armed mode and detects that the ignition is forcibly switched on (hotwired), the siren will activate, and indicators will flash. The engine is automatically immobilised, preventing the motorcycle from starting. The siren and indicators will flash for 30 seconds. The LCD remote fob will bleep for 30 seconds, display "Exhaust pipe and headlight" icons, and vibrate 8 times. The system will then rearm.
Anti Hijack: Press and hold the arm button for 2 seconds while the ignition is on. The engine will immobilise within 20 seconds, the siren will sound continuously, and the indicators will flash continuously. Press the disarm button to deactivate anti-hijack mode.
Siren Silencing During Arm: If the siren has been triggered, it can be turned off without disarming the alarm by pressing the arm button once during the siren sounding duration.
Adjusting Shock Sensor: The shock sensor sensitivity can be adjusted by removing the dust cover from the side of the alarm main control box and using a screwdriver.
LED Function / Alarm Memory: In arm mode, the LED flashes twice every 2 seconds to indicate the alarm is armed. If triggered by the shock sensor, the LED flashes continuously for 30 seconds, then 4 times every 4 seconds until the system is disarmed. If triggered by ignition on (anti-hotwire), the LED flashes continuously until the system is disarmed and the ignition is turned on. The system has a memory function, retaining its armed or disarmed state even if detached from the cable harness, preventing tampering attempts.
Learning Transmitter Codes: The included transmitters are pre-programmed. To add or delete a new transmitter:
LCD Remote Fob Radio Signal Strength Indicator: In arm mode, if no radio signal bars are shown on the LCD remote fob, the alarm is out of range of the main control box. If radio signal bars are shown, the remote fob is communicating with the main alarm unit.
LCD Remote Fob Battery Status Indicator: If battery power is low, the remote fob will make a "Di..Di.." sound when any key is pressed, reminding the user to change the battery. If the battery icon starts blinking, the battery should be changed immediately, as the remote fob will otherwise cease to function.
LCD Remote Fob Time / Alarm Setting: Press the arm and disarm buttons together for 1 second to enter time/alarm adjustment mode. Press the remote start button to shift and set among the icons: time/min, time/h, alarm on/off, alarm/min, alarm/h, quit. The selected icon will flash. Press the bike finder button to set each function, then press the remote start button to enter the next function setting. When the "Quit" icon flashes, press the bike finder and remote start buttons for 1 second to save and quit. Press the bike finder button only to quit without saving.
