Maintenance
b. Machine wash the top cover per your facility protocol. The cover
can be washed at a maximum water temperature of 54°C (130°F).
• Use a disinfectant as instructed in the manufacturer’s
instructions.
• To determine the amount of disinfectant to use, determine
the amount of water in the washer, and follow the
manufacturer’s dilution instructions.
• During the wash cycle, soak the top cover in the disinfectant.
• Let the top cover rinse thoroughly in clean water.
c. Use the lowest temperature setting of the dryer to dry the top
cover; do not exceed 43°C (110°F).
d. Follow the Cleaning and Disinfecting instructions. See “Cleaning
and Disinfecting” on page 13.
For rental beds, Hill-Rom Service personnel will follow the Laundry Wash
and Dry Procedure (QS02040).
MAINTENANCE
To help prevent injury and/or equipment damage, obey these warnings:
• Warning—Only facility-authorized persons should service the
AccuMax Quantum VPC Mattress.
• Warning—Do not use a mattress with a damaged cover.
• Warning—Examine and disinfect the mattress between patient
use.
• Warning—Do not attempt to service the control unit. Contact
Hill-Rom for service instructions. Always follow the use and
service instructions closely.
Occasional maintenance is necessary for the mattress:
1. Regularly examine the cover for cuts, rips, cracks, or tears. Repair or
replace as necessary. Do not use a mattress with a damaged cover.
2. To help prevent cross-contamination, examine and disinfect the
mattress between patient use (see “Cleaning and Disinfecting” on
page 13).
