Overview

This document is a user's operation manual for a Hisense tumble dryer, providing comprehensive information on its function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description:

The Hisense tumble dryer is designed for drying laundry. It offers various drying programs tailored to different fabric types and desired dryness levels, including Cotton, Storage (Cupboard dry), Standard, Iron (Moist for ironing), Mix (Mixed laundry/Synthetics), Wool, Delicates, Air Refresh, Down Wear, Baby Care (Baby clothes), Sportswear, Shirts, and Dry (Timed drying program). The dryer features a control unit with a program selector knob and a start/pause button, along with a display for various indicators like Extra Dry, Gentle Care (Lower Temperature), Start Delay, Clean the Filter, Empty the Condensate Tank, and Anti Crease. It also includes safety features such as a child lock. The dryer is intended solely for household use and should not be used for professional or for-profit purposes.

Important Technical Specifications:

The dryer has a width of 600 mm, a height of 850 mm, a dryer depth (a) of 625 mm, a depth with door closed of 653 mm, and a depth with door open (b) of 1134 mm. The weight and rated voltage are specified on the rating plate. The fuse and nominal power are also indicated on the rating plate, with a maximum load as specified. The dryer is rated IPX4. Program-specific maximum loads vary:

  • Cotton: 7 kg/8 kg
  • Storage (Cupboard dry): 7 kg/8 kg
  • Standard: 7 kg/8 kg
  • Iron (Moist for ironing): 7 kg/8 kg
  • Mix (Mixed laundry/Synthetics): 3.5 kg
  • Iron: 3.5 kg
  • Wool: 2 kg
  • Delicates: 1 kg
  • Air Refresh: 2 kg
  • Down Wear: 1.5 kg
  • Baby Care (Baby clothes): 4 kg
  • Sportswear: 3 kg
  • Shirts: 2 kg
  • Dry (Timed drying program): 4 kg
  • Bedding: 5 kg

The manual also provides a "Typical Consumption Table" with spinning rpm, load, electric energy consumption, and drying time for various programs, measured by standard EN 61121. For example, Cotton Standard with a 7 kg load and 1000 rpm spinning has an electric energy consumption of 4.25 kWh and a drying time of 125 minutes.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The dryer should be placed on a level and stable concrete base, with adequate ventilation and a temperature between 10°C and 25°C. It should not be placed behind a lockable or sliding door. Clearances of 10 cm from the back and 5 cm from the sides are recommended. The dryer can be placed next to a washing machine or stacked on top of a Hisense washing machine using vacuum feet.
  • Power Connection: The dryer should be connected to a grounded power outlet. After installation, it should stand still for two hours before being connected to the power mains. An extension cord should not be used.
  • First Use: Before first use, the dryer drum should be cleaned with a soft damp cotton cloth and water.
  • Loading Laundry: Laundry should be sorted by type and thickness. Buttons and zips should be closed, and ribbons tied. Very sensitive clothes should be placed in a special-purpose laundry bag. Items like leather garments, garments with wax or treated in other ways, garments with major wooden, plastic, or metal parts, garments with spangles, and garments with metal parts subject to rusting should not be dried. The dryer should not be overloaded to prevent wrinkling.
  • Drying in a Basket: An optional accessory basket can be used for drying sports shoes, slippers, or other items that should not be tumbled. The maximum load for the basket is 2.5 kg.
  • Program Selection: Programs are selected by rotating the program selector knob.
  • Extra Functions: The dryer offers extra functions such as Extra Dry (adjusts dryness level), Gentle Care (Lower Temperature), Start Delay (delays program start from 0 to 6 hours in 30-minute steps, and from 6 to 24 hours in 1-hour steps), and Anti Crease (reduces wrinkling). A child lock feature can be activated by pressing the Extra Dry and Start Delay buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
  • Interrupting/Changing Programs: Programs can be paused and resumed. The door can be opened during a drying process, but care should be taken as the laundry may be hot.
  • Economic Use: To optimize drying time and power consumption, filters should be cleaned regularly, and laundry conditioners can be used. Smaller amounts of laundry or individual garments may not achieve the desired level of moisture.

Maintenance Features:

  • Filter Cleaning: The net filter in the door should be cleaned after each drying cycle. This involves lifting the filter cover, scraping off lint, cleaning the filter housing and door gasket, and then closing the filter cover.
  • Condenser Unit Cleaning: The condenser unit should be cleaned periodically. This involves opening the outer cover, rotating the levers on the inside cover upwards, removing the inside cover, pulling out the condenser unit, rinsing it thoroughly under running water, and cleaning the space behind the condenser unit with a soft damp cloth.
  • Condensate Tank Emptying: The condensate tank should be emptied after each drying cycle. The manual provides instructions on how to pull out the condensate tank and pour out the water. The condensate water is not potable and should not be used for ironing.
  • General Cleaning: The dryer exterior should be cleaned with a soft damp cotton cloth. Solvents or cleaning agents that could damage the dryer should not be used. A jet of water should not be used to clean the dryer.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting table for common problems like the machine not starting, voltage issues, the appliance stopping completely during a program, a slight hitting noise, the door opening during drying, and unevenly dried laundry. It also lists error codes (E0, E1, E2, E3, E4, E6, E7, E8) and warnings (Condensate tank warning, Power supply failure warning) displayed on the unit, along with recommended actions.
  • Servicing: In case of a failure, a service technician should be contacted. Repairs or warranty claims resulting from incorrect connection or use are not covered by the warranty. Only approved spare parts by authorized manufacturers should be used.
