Overview

This document is the User's Operation Manual for the Hisense HDGA80H dryer, designed to provide comprehensive instructions for its safe and efficient use, installation, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Hisense HDGA80H is a tumble dryer primarily intended for household use, designed to dry water-washed laundry. It utilizes a heat pump system to heat the air, which consists of a compressor and a heat exchanger. The drying process involves extracting moisture from laundry, which then accumulates in a condensate tank. The dryer offers various drying programs and extra functions to cater to different fabric types and desired dryness levels.

Usage Features

The dryer features a user-friendly control unit with a programme selector knob, start/pause button, and various indicator lights for functions like Half Load, Extra Dry, Start Delay, Child Lock, and Anti Crease.

  • Drying Programs: A wide range of programs are available, including Cotton Storage, Standard, Easy Iron (for cotton and mixed laundry/synthetics), Wool, Delicates, Shirts, Down Wear, Air Refresh, Dry (Timed drying program - 30', 60', 90'), and Bedding. Each program is designed for specific fabric types and dryness levels, with recommended maximum loads.
  • Extra Functions:
    • Extra Dry: Adjusts the dryness level, leading to a longer drying cycle. This setting is not stored after the program.
    • Half Load: Adjusts the drying time for smaller loads.
    • Start Delay: Allows users to set a delayed start time for the drying program, from 0 to 24 hours in 30-minute or 1-hour increments.
    • Anti Crease: Prevents laundry from creasing if it cannot be removed immediately after the program, with options for 1h, 2h, or 3h.
    • Child Lock: Activates by simultaneously pressing the START DELAY and ANTI CREASE buttons for 3 seconds, preventing accidental changes to settings or programs.
  • Drying in a Basket: For delicate items like sports shoes or slippers that should not be tumbled, an optional drying basket can be inserted into the drum. This feature is used with timed drying programs.
  • Personal Settings Menu: Allows users to adjust acoustic signal volume (four levels, including off) and reset personal program settings to factory defaults.
  • Automatic Switch-off: The dryer automatically switches off after 5 minutes of inactivity to save energy.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the dryer.

  • Filter System: The dryer is equipped with a filtering system to prevent impurities from entering the heat exchanger.
    • Net Filter (in the door): Must be cleaned after each drying cycle. This involves opening the filter housing, pulling out the net filter, gently scraping off lint, and cleaning the housing and door gasket if necessary, before reinserting.
    • Heat Pump Filter: Located behind an outer cover. It should be pulled out using its handle, and the foam part should be pushed out from its housing. The foam filter should be washed under running water and dried before being replaced. The heat pump filter housing should also be cleaned with a damp cloth. This filter should be cleaned at least after every five drying cycles.
  • Heat Exchanger Cleaning: The metal fins of the heat exchanger can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and a soft brush attachment. Access is gained after removing the heat pump filter. Cleaning should be done gently, moving the brush only from top to bottom, to avoid damage. It is recommended to clean the heat exchanger at least every twelve months.
  • Condensate Tank: Must be emptied after each drying cycle. The dryer will pause if the tank is full. The tank is pulled out, inverted over a basin, and the spout is used for easier emptying. Alternatively, a condensate discharge hose can be connected directly to a drain to avoid manual emptying. Never add chemicals or fragrances to the condensate tank.
  • Dryer Exterior: Clean with a soft damp cotton cloth. Do not use solvents, cleaning agents that could damage the dryer, or a jet of water.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting table to address common issues like the machine not starting, drum not spinning, appliance stopping heating, unusual noises, unevenly dried laundry, and error codes (E0-E8, Full condensate tank, PF for power supply failure).

Safety Precautions

The manual emphasizes several safety precautions:

  • Read the instructions thoroughly before use.
  • Ensure proper installation and connection to power mains, avoiding extension cords or outlets for shavers/hair dryers.
  • Allow the dryer to stand still for two hours after installation before connecting to power.
  • All repairs and maintenance should be performed by trained experts.
  • Do not use the dryer if the power cord is damaged; it must be replaced by authorized personnel.
  • Install the dryer in a well-ventilated room (10°C-25°C) on a level, stable surface, ensuring no obstruction of air exhaust.
  • Do not install behind a lockable or sliding door that restricts full opening.
  • Do not dry laundry soiled with flammable substances (cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes, wax removers) or items made of foam rubber, waterproof textiles, or rubber-backed articles.
  • Remove all objects from pockets before drying.
  • Never stop a drying cycle prematurely unless items are quickly removed and spread out to dissipate heat.
  • Clean filters after each cycle.
  • Do not add chemicals or fragrances to the condensate tank.
  • Unplug the dryer after use.
  • Keep children and pets away from the dryer and its drum.
  • The door glass and the back of the dryer can become very hot during operation; exercise caution to avoid burns.
  • The dryer is not intended for use by persons with physical or mental impairments or lacking experience, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.
  • The warranty does not cover damage from incorrect connection, unauthorized servicing, or environmental disturbances like lightning strikes.
