      If your Hitachi DVD VCR Combo recorder won't record even with the timer set, it might be due to several reasons. First, make sure you have a disc or tape loaded. If there is one, ensure it's a recordable type. Also, check the Setup menu to see if Disc Protect is turned ON; if it is, turn it OFF. Verify that the power is turned on. Finally, if the disc is full with 99 titles (DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVDRAM) or 49 titles (DVD+RW, DVD+R), delete some titles to create additional space.

Lastly, you may have reached the limit of 8 timer programs. If so, you’ll need to delete an existing timer program before adding a new one.

      When two or more timer programs overlap on your Hitachi DVD VCR Combo, the device follows a specific order. The program that starts earlier will always take priority. Once the earlier program concludes, the subsequent program will then commence. If two programs are set to begin at the exact same moment, the program that was entered first will be given priority.
