SAFETY
BEFORE ENTERING THE VEHICLE
Check that windows, mirrors and lamps are clean.
Visually check tyre ination.
Note Check the tyre pressures each week.
BEFORE DRIVING OFF
1. Ensure that all doors are closed and secured.
2. Position your seat for comfortable driving.
3. Adjust rear view mirrors.
4. FASTEN SEATBELTS.
5. Check that the warning indicators illuminate when turning the key to start the
engine. Refer to Warning/reminder indications in chapter 1A.
PARKING
1. Apply the park brake.
2. Automatic transmission

: Select position P (park).
Manual transmission
3
: If pointing uphill or on at ground, engage 1st gear.
If pointing downhill, engage R (reverse) gear.
3. Shut all windows.
4. Turn the ignition key to the LOCK position and remove the key.
5. Press the e button on the key to lock all doors and to arm the alarm system when
outside of the vehicle. Refer to Locking in chapter 2.
Note The engine fan may keep going for several minutes after the ignition has been
switched off. This is normal.
WARNING
Be careful where you park or drive. As with any vehicle, do not park or operate
the vehicle in areas where combustible materials such as dry grass or leaves can
come in contact with a hot exhaust system.
Exhaust gases are hazardous, especially if they concentrate in closed rooms.
Never leave the engine running in an enclosed space such as a closed garage or
underground car park.
