  Excessive vibrations in your Holzstar Lathe can occur for several reasons. The workpiece might be warped, out of round, have large weak points/cracks, or hasn't been prepared properly; in this case, plane and cut the workpiece in preparation for turning. Other causes include worn spindle bearings (have the spindle bearings replaced), a worn belt (replace the belt), a loose motor mount (tighten the screws and handle), or the lathe being positioned on an uneven surface (place the lathe on a level surface and align).
