Kickback forces can be controlled by the operator,
if proper precautions are taken. Do not let go of the
chain saw. See Figure 11
Ŷ Do not overreach and do not cut above shoulder
height. This helps prevent unintended tip contact
and enables better control of the chain saw in
unexpected situations.
Ŷ Only use replacement bars and chains specified
by the manufacturer. Incorrect replacement bars
and chains may cause chain breakage and/or
kickback.
Ŷ Follow the manufacturer’s sharpening and
maintenance instructions for the saw chain.
Decreasing the depth gauge height can lead to
increased kickback.
It is recommended for increased electrical safety to use
a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current
of not more than 30 mA. Always check your RCD every
time you use it.
The chain saw has a high starting current and should
be connected to a robust power supply. The chain
saw should be connected to a power source with an
