A WARNING
Throttle Control
Debris thrown from the edger can result in foreign
objects being thrown into eyes, which can cause severe
eye damage. Always wear ANSI compliant safety
glasses or eye shields when operating the edger.
If you
wear eyeglasses, put an OSHA certified Wide Vision
Safety Mask over your eyeglasses.
HOW TO USE THE THROTTLE CONTROL
1. During normal use, run the engine at full speed.
2. Move the throttle control rearward 10 increase engine
speed, or forward to decrease engine speed.

HOW TO USE THE CHOKE
To start the the engine, rotate Ihe choke lever to the CHOKE
position. After the engine has been running for 2-5 seconds,
rotate the choke lever 10 the RUN posi tion. (See Figure 10)
HOW TO USE THE CLUTCH LEVER
1. Start Ihe engine.
2. To engage the culling blade, move the clutch lever forward.
(See Figure 11)
3. Select the edging depth you need. There are five

selections down to approximately 2-3/4 in. [70 mm] deep. \ \
NOTE: When culling at the deepest depths, make multiple

cuts by cutting at shallower depths first.

FILLING TANK
1. Clean surface around fuel cap to prevent contanimation.
2. Loose n fuel cap slowly. Rest the cap on a clean surface.
3. Carefull y pour fuel into the tank. Avoid spillage.
4. Prior to replacing the fuel cap, clean and inspect the
gasket.
5. Immediately replace fuel cap and hand tighten. Wipe up
any spillage.
NOTE:

is normal for smoke to be emitted from a new engine
after the first use.
