How to fix Homelite UT33600 Trimmer that will not start?
    • C
      Cindy DunnNov 21, 2025
First, check for a spark. Remove the spark plug, re-attach the cap, and lay the plug on the metal cylinder. Pull the starter rope and look for a spark at the plug tip. If there's no spark, try again with a new spark plug. Next, push the primer bulb until it fills with fuel. If it doesn't fill, the fuel delivery system may be blocked, and you should contact a servicing dealer. If the bulb fills, the engine might be flooded. Remove the spark plug, turn the trimmer so the spark plug hole faces the ground, rotate the choke dial to the 'RUN' position, and pull the starter cord 10 to 15 times to clear excess fuel. Clean and reinstall the spark plug. Then, pull the starter three times with the choke dial at 'RUN'. If it still doesn't start, rotate the choke dial to 'FULL CHOKE' and repeat the nor...

Why Homelite UT33600 Trimmer engine will not start?
    • J
      Jeremy HamptonAug 25, 2025
The Homelite Trimmer engine might not start due to several reasons. There could be no spark, which requires cleaning or replacing the spark plug and resetting the spark plug gap. Another reason might be no fuel; in this case, push the primer bulb until it is full of fuel. If the bulb does not fill, the primary fuel delivery system is blocked, and you should contact an authorized service dealer. Finally, the engine may be flooded. To resolve this, set the CHOKE lever to the START position, squeeze the trigger, and pull the rope repeatedly until the engine starts and runs. Note that depending on the severity of the flooding, numerous pulls of the rope may be required.

How to fix Homelite Trimmer string that will not advance?
    • N
      nryanAug 27, 2025
Several factors can cause this. It could be that the string is welded to itself, there isn't enough string on the spool, the string is worn too short, the string is tangled, or the engine speed is too slow. Try lubricating the string with silicone spray. If that doesn't work, install more string. You can also try pulling the strings while alternately pressing down on and releasing the spool retainer. If the string is tangled, remove it from the spool and rewind it. Make sure to advance the string at full throttle.

If the line on your Homelite Trimmer won't advance, here are a few possible solutions: 1. **Line is welded to itself:** Lubricate the line with silicone spray. 2. **Not enough line on spool:** Install more line. 3. **Line is worn too short:** Pull the lines while alternately pressing down on and releasing the spool retainer. 4. **Line is tangled on spool:** Remove the line from the spool and rewind it. 5. **Engine speed is too slow:** Advance the line at full throttle.

Why does grass wrap around drive shaft housing and string head of my Homelite UT33600 Trimmer?
    • M
      masonpayneSep 18, 2025
Grass can wrap around the drive shaft housing and string head of your Homelite Trimmer for a couple of reasons. You might be cutting tall grass at ground level, in which case you should cut tall grass from the top down to prevent wrapping. Also, you might be operating the trimmer at part throttle, so operate the trimmer at full throttle.

Why Homelite UT33600 Trimmer engine does not reach full speed and emits excessive smoke?
    • Y
      Yolanda GraySep 8, 2025
This can be caused by an incorrect lubricant fuel mixture, a dirty air filter, or a carburetor that is out of adjustment. Use fresh fuel and the correct 2-cycle lubricant mix. Clean the air filter. If problems persist, contact an authorized servicing dealer.
