How to fix Homelite Trimmer when engine will not start?
- DDana FieldsAug 12, 2025
If your Homelite Trimmer engine won't start, there could be several reasons. First, check for spark. Remove the spark plug, reattach the cap, and lay the plug on the metal cylinder. Pull the starter rope to see if there's a spark at the plug tip; if not, try again with a new spark plug. Another reason could be no fuel. Push the primer bulb until it fills with fuel; if it doesn't, the primary fuel delivery system might be blocked, and you should contact a servicing dealer. Lastly, the engine might be flooded. Remove the spark plug, aim the spark plug hole at the ground, rotate the choke dial to the “RUN” position, and pull the starter cord 10 to 15 times to clear excess fuel. Clean and reinstall the spark plug, then try starting again.
