b. Close the breaker points and valves.
Pull the starter rope slowly until compression is felt and the timing
mark on the cooling fan just comes up to top position. (the piston is
coming up on the compression stroke). In this position, both the inlet
and exhaust valves and contact breaker points are closed, preventing the
breaker points surfaces and the valve face seats from corroding.

b. Schließen Sie die Unterbrecherkontakte und Ventile.
Ziehen Sie das Anlasserseil langsam heraus, bis der Verdichtungswiderstand zu spüren ist und sich die Zündein-
stellmarkierung auf dem Kühlventilator gerade bis zur oberen Stellung bewegt hat. In dieser Stellung sind
sowohl die Ein- und Auslaßventile als auch die Unterbrecherkontakte geschlossen, wodurch die Unterbrecher-
kontaktflachen und Ventilsitze gegen Korrosion geschützt sind.
