Storing Your Vehicle
If you store your vehicle outdoors, you should
consider using a full-body cover.
If you won't be riding for an extended period,
follow these guidelines:
● Wash your vehicle and wax all painted
surfaces (except mat painted surfaces). Coat
chrome pieces with rust-inhibiting oil.
● Lubricate the drive chain. 2 P. 53
● Place your vehicle on a maintenance stand
and position a block so that both tyres are off
the ground.
● After rain, remove the body cover and allow
the vehicle to dry.
● Remove the battery (2 P. 59) to prevent
discharge. Fully charge the battery and then
place it in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
u If you leave the battery in place, disconnect
the negative
- terminal to prevent
discharge.
After removing your vehicle from storage,
inspect all maintenance items required by the
Maintenance Schedule.
