FUEL SYSTEM (PGM-FI)

REMOVAL
• It is impossible to disassemble the fuel pump
after removing it.
Relieve the fuel pressure and disconnect the quick
connect fitting (page 6-44).
Clean around the fuel pump.
Disconnect the fuel pump 5P connector.
Remove the fuel pump mounting nuts.
Remove the set plate and fuel pump unit from the
fuel tank.
Remove the packing from the fuel pump unit.
INSPECTION
Check for fuel pump unit for wear or damage.
Check for fuel suction filter for wear or damage.
Replace the fuel pump unit if necessary.

Be careful not to
damage the fuel
level sensor.
