Summary

Removing your old thermostat

Turn power OFF

Ensure power is off at the breaker box before starting.

Check for 120/240V wires

Identify thick black wires with wire nuts for line voltage systems.

Take a picture of how your wiring looks right now

Document wire connections for later reference.

Disconnect the wires and remove the old wall plate

Release wires using a screwdriver and remove the old plate.

Installing your RTH6360 thermostat

Bundle and insert wires through the UWP

Feed wires through the UWP and ensure 1/4-inch is exposed.

Insert the wall anchors

Level the UWP, mark holes, drill, and insert anchors.

Set R-switch position and insert R-wire or wires

Set R-switch based on wiring and insert R, Rh, or Rc wires.

Connect wires from Step 8

Depress terminal tabs to insert wires firmly into the UWP.

Confirm wiring matches snapshot

Verify current wiring matches the photo taken earlier.

Attach your thermostat

Align the thermostat onto the UWP and snap it into place.

Set date and time

System Setup

Select System Setup options

Navigate and set various system configuration parameters.

Program Schedule

Troubleshooting

Display is blank

Ensure fresh batteries are installed correctly.

Heating or cooling system does not respond

Check power, circuit breaker, and temperature settings.

Heat On/Cool On flashing on screen

Wait 5 minutes for compressor protection to disengage.
