This document outlines the features, usage, and maintenance of a smart scale designed for daily life measurements.
The smart scale is primarily designed for measuring weight and body fat rate. It integrates with the Huawei Health app to provide a comprehensive overview of various fitness and health data. Beyond basic weight measurement, the scale can also measure body fat rate and heart rate, offering a more detailed insight into a user's physical condition. The device is capable of identifying multiple users, storing their data, and syncing it to the associated Huawei Health app for tracking and analysis. It supports setting weight goals, which can be monitored through the app. The scale also provides indicators and displays for various statuses, such as pairing, battery level, and measurement errors.
Pairing and Connecting: To begin using the scale, users need to install three AAA batteries and close the battery cover. The scale will power on automatically and display "8888" and "2Ero" sequentially, indicating it's ready for pairing, with the Bluetooth icon blinking. Users must then install the latest version of the Huawei Health app on their phone. The pairing process involves opening the Huawei Health app, navigating to "Devices" > "Add" > "Scales," selecting the scale, and touching "Pair." Onscreen instructions guide the user to wake up the scale by ensuring its LED indicator lights up. After selecting the scale, users follow further instructions to complete the pairing. It's crucial to enter user information correctly, including gender, age, and height, as this affects measurement accuracy. The scale is compatible with phones running Android 4.4 or later but not iOS. For full functionality, the Huawei Health app requires Notifications permission during the initial pairing. To unpair, users go to "Devices" in the Huawei Health app, select their device name, and touch "Unpair."
Setting Up User Information: The scale is intended for daily weight and body fat rate measurements. It is not suitable for individuals with implanted medical devices (e.g., pacemakers, cochlear implants) or pregnant women. Certain conditions, such as fever, osteoporosis, edema, or using an artificial kidney, can affect fat rate measurements, making the data reference-only. Users aged 18 and below, and 65 and above, can only measure weight and heart rate due to physiological reasons. Users can add up to 10 profiles in the Huawei Health app. To add a user, open the app, touch "Weight," then the profile icon in the top-right corner, go to "Manage users" > "Add," and follow the onscreen instructions. Correct entry of gender, date of birth, height, and initial weight is vital for accurate data. Existing user information can be edited by selecting the user's name on the "Manage users" screen. Users can also be deleted from this screen by selecting their name and touching "Delete user," then confirming with "OK." Weight goals can be set by going to "Me" > "Settings" > "Goals" in the Huawei Health app, selecting the desired weight, and touching "SAVE."
Starting the Measurement: Measurements can be initiated either through the Huawei Health app or directly on the scale.
Measuring Data of Multiple Users: New users can associate their phones with the scale to measure weight and view data in the Huawei Health app. The scale attempts to identify the current user automatically. If "Err2" or "----" is displayed, manual confirmation or connection to the Huawei Health app is required. A scale can be paired with up to five phones but connects to only one at a time. Users can also be added directly within the Huawei Health app as described above.
Assigning Measurements: If "Err2" is displayed, it indicates that the current measured data is similar to other records, and the scale cannot identify the user. Users should check and confirm their data in the Huawei Health app.
Managing Body Fat Data: To ensure accurate user detection, connect the scale to the Huawei Health app, go to "Devices," select the device name, then "Manage data" > "Delete data," and remove unwanted weight data. Caution is advised when deleting user data, as it may impair the scale's ability to identify users. After clearing data, users can update personal data by performing a new measurement while connected to the app or by checking and confirming data in the app.
Indicator and Display: The scale uses various LED indicators:
Creating a Record: Users can create a record of weight and body fat rate by opening the Huawei Health app, going to "Me" > "My data" > "Weight" > "Create a record," or by touching "Weight" on the home screen and then "Create a record."
Setting the Unit of Weight: The unit of weight can be set in the Huawei Health app to half-kilo, kilo, or pounds. To do this, open the app, go to "Me" > "Settings" > "Units," and select "Metric" or "Imperial." If "Units" is set to "Metric," touch "Weight unit" and select "Half-kilos" or "kg." If "Units" is set to "Imperial," touch "Weight unit" and select "lbs" or "kg."
Updating the Scale: To update the scale's firmware, connect it to the Huawei Health app, go to "Devices," select the device name, then "Firmware update" to view the current version. Touch "Check for updates" to search for available updates and follow onscreen instructions. Do not step on or press the scale during an update. If an update fails, repeat the steps. The Huawei Health app itself can also be updated by going to "Me" > "Check for updates" in the app.
