Overview

The Hoover H-Purifier is an air purification device designed for private household use, offering a comprehensive solution for monitoring and improving indoor air quality. It integrates a Multi Sensor Monitoring System that continuously tracks various indoor air conditions, including PM10, PM2.5, Volatile Organic Compounds (GAS), and Carbon Monoxide (CO) concentration. The device is equipped with an alert system for Carbon Monoxide, providing both visual and audible warnings when unsafe CO levels are detected.

Function Description

The H-Purifier operates through several modes to optimize air purification:

  • AUTO Mode: This is the default setting upon activation. The H-Purifier automatically adjusts its fan speed based on real-time indoor air quality to ensure optimal purification. It also features an ECO mode, which pauses purification after 30 minutes of excellent air quality, while the Multi Sensor Monitoring System continues to analyze the indoor air and reactivate purification when needed.
  • MAX Mode: Activates air purifying at the maximum power setting for rapid air cleaning.
  • SLEEP Mode: Operates at the lowest, silent power setting, with all display lights dimmed or off, which can be adjusted via the Light Control button.
  • POLLEN ALLERGY Mode: This mode is exclusively activated via the hOn App and requires a registered profile. It works in conjunction with AUTO MODE, receiving real-time data on outdoor pollen concentration to maximize pollen capturing performance. Once captured, pollens are inactivated to alleviate allergic symptoms. The device indicates pollen presence through a WHITE lamp (no risk) or a YELLOW lamp (detected risk) on the Pollen Allergy Circle.

The device also includes a Diffuser Function that disperses H-Essence (essential oils for fragrance) or H-Biotics (a natural blend of probiotics to inhibit the growth of microorganisms) into the room. There are four diffuser settings: SOFT, MEDIUM, CUSTOM, and H-BIOTICS. The Diffuser function can only be used in AUTO & MAX modes and is not available in SLEEP mode. When activated in AUTO mode, the main fan adjusts its speed to effectively spread the H-Essence or H-Biotics.

Important Technical Specifications

  • CO Sensor Lifetime: The CO sensor has an expected lifetime of 5 years, after which it must be replaced by a qualified technician.
  • Operating Humidity: 15 – 90% RH
  • Operating Temperature: 0°C to + 40°C
  • CO Alarm Level: When CO reaches a high level, the CO Alert button and Air Quality LED Ring blink red (2Hz), and an alarm sounds loudly (85~110dB(A)) continuously until CO intensity falls below the alarm level.
  • Wireless Connectivity:
    • Wi-Fi Standard: IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, Frequency Band: 2400Mhz ~ 2483.5Mhz, Maximum RF power: 100 mW.
    • Bluetooth Standard: Bluetooth v4.2, BR/EDR, BLE, Frequency Band: 2402 ~ 2480Mhz, Maximum RF power: 10 mW.

Usage Features

  • Control Panel / Display: Features a digital display and various buttons for controlling functions such as Power, Sleep Mode, Auto Mode, Max Mode, Diffuser, Child Lock, Information, Pollen Allergy, Light Control, and Wi-Fi.
  • Air Quality LED Ring: Illuminates with different colors (GREEN for Excellent, YELLOW for Satisfactory, ORANGE for Poor, RED for Very Poor) to indicate real-time indoor air quality.
  • Information Function: Provides access to 6 different data sets: PM10, PM2.5, GAS, Temperature, Humidity, and Filter Status. The display defaults to PM10 data and remembers the user's last selection.
  • Child Lock Function: Deactivates all buttons on the Control Panel/Display when activated, preventing unintended changes.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity: Allows remote control and access to all H-Purifier functions via the hOn App, available on App Store and Google Play.
  • CO Alert Button & LED: The LED indicates the CO sensor's working condition (green for normal, yellow for malfunctioning or end-of-life). Pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds tests the alarm, producing a loud buzzer sound for 5 seconds.
  • Diffuser Bottle Installation: H-Essence or H-Biotics bottles are screwed onto a diffuser unit, which is then placed into the diffuser cover and re-fitted into the product.
  • Diffuser Cycle: The diffuser function operates in cycles with specific pump on/off durations and a shutdown after 6 hours. For H-Biotics, an alert is given after 120 hours to ensure usage every 5 days.

Maintenance Features

  • Filter Cleaning / Replacement: The H-Purifier monitors filter condition and displays "CLEAN FILTER" or "REPLACE FILTER" alerts.
    • Procedure: Involves removing the Air Inlet Cover, unlocking the filter release switch, removing the filter, cleaning the external mesh with a vacuum cleaner (or replacing with a new filter), re-fitting the filter, locking the switch, and re-fitting the Air Inlet Cover.
    • Resetting Filter Alert: After cleaning or replacement, the filter clean function must be reset by pressing and holding the INFORMATION button for 3 seconds.
  • Diffuser Maintenance: After each use, any residue on the product surfaces should be cleaned with a dry soft cloth.
  • Diffuser Bottle Replacement: The liquid volume in the bottle can be checked through the Diffuser Window. Replacement involves removing the diffuser cover, unscrewing the empty bottle, screwing on a new bottle, and re-fitting the unit and cover.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a list of common problems and solutions, such as fan not working, weak airflow, or loud operation. For persistent issues, users are advised to contact Hoover service.
  • Storage: When storing the H-Purifier, it should be switched off, unplugged, cleaned internally and externally, the diffuser bottle removed and capped, and the power cord reeled in and secured. The appliance should be stored in a cool, dry place.

Safety Information

The H-Purifier is intended for private household use only. It is crucial to understand the user guide before operation. The device is not a substitute for proper ventilation, regular vacuum cleaning, or an extractor hood/fan while cooking. It does not remove carbon monoxide or radon and should not be used as a safety device for combustion accidents or hazardous chemicals. The CO Monitor function is supplemental and not a substitute for certified carbon monoxide alarms mandated by codes or legislation. Users are warned against placing the appliance in wet, humid, or hot areas, near open fires, or where it could be obstructed. Only original Hoover filters, attachments, consumables, and spares should be used. In case of CO alarm activation, users should open windows and doors, turn off fuel-burning appliances, evacuate the property, and seek medical help if necessary. The alarm will stop once CO levels are safe.
