This document describes a Hoover washing machine, designed for household and similar applications. It emphasizes the appliance's innovative and technologically advanced features, aiming to provide comprehensive assistance for daily routines. Users are encouraged to register their product on the manufacturer's website to access supplementary services.
Function Description
The Hoover washing machine automatically adjusts water levels based on the type and quantity of laundry, leading to reduced energy consumption and shorter washing times. It offers a variety of washing programs tailored to different fabrics and levels of dirt, including:
- ActivEco 20°C: An innovative program for washing different fabrics and colors together at 20°C, providing excellent cleaning performance with about 40% less consumption than a conventional 40°C cotton wash.
- Baby 60°C: Designed for washing baby clothes, achieving a perfect clean and sanitizing effect at a minimum of 60°C. Powder detergent is recommended for optimal sanitizing results.
- Daily 59 Min.: A specially designed program that maintains high-quality wash performance while significantly reducing wash time, suitable for reduced loads.
- Rapid (14/30/44 Min.): Suggested for low loads and slightly dirty items. Users can choose between 14, 30, or 44-minute cycles. Reducing detergent quantity is recommended to avoid waste.
- Cottons: The most efficient program for normally soiled cotton laundry in terms of combined energy and water consumption.
- Delicates: Alternates between work and pause moments, ideal for delicate fabrics. The wash cycle and rinses use a high water level for best performance.
- Auto Clean: A program to clean the drum, recommended every 50 washing cycles to ensure a long service life and prevent odors. It should be run without laundry, using only powder detergent. After the cycle, the door should be left open to dry the drum.
- Rinse: Performs three rinses with an intermediate spin, suitable for any fabric, including hand-washed items.
- Drain & Spin: Completes the drain and a maximum spin. Spin speed can be adjusted or canceled.
- Mixed: Optimizes washing and rinsing rhythms and water levels for mixed fabrics. A gentle spin reduces creasing.
- Hand & Silk: A delicate washing cycle for garments labeled "Hand Wash only" or "Wash as Silk."
- Wool: A wash cycle dedicated to machine-washable wool fabrics or hand-washed articles.
The appliance also features drying cycles:
- Low Heat (drying): Recommended for synthetics and mixed fibers.
- High Heat (drying): Recommended for cottons and linen items.
- Rapid W&D 59 Min.: An ideal time-saver for small loads (e.g., 4 shirts) or slightly dirty fabrics, washing, rinsing, spinning, and drying garments in under an hour. Reduced detergent dosage is recommended.
During the drying phase, the drum accelerates to a higher speed to distribute the load and optimize drying performance. Cool air is used during the final 10-20 minutes to minimize creasing.
Usage Features
The washing machine is equipped with a program selector with an OFF position. When a program is selected, the display lights up, showing the settings. For energy saving, the display contrast decreases at the end of a cycle or after an inactivity period.
START/PAUSE button:
- Press to start the selected cycle.
- To pause a program, press and hold for about 2 seconds. The indicator light and remaining time will flash.
- After adding or removing items, close the door and press START/PAUSE to resume.
DELAY START button:
- Allows delaying the start of a wash cycle for up to 24 hours.
- Press once to activate (h00 appears), then repeatedly to set the delay in 1-hour increments (h01 to h24). Pressing again after h24 resets to zero.
- Confirm by pressing START/PAUSE.
PREWASH button:
- Activates a preliminary wash cycle, suitable for heavily soiled items. The temperature does not exceed 40°C, and in some cases, it may not reach the maximum temperatures of the selected program.
DRYING SELECTION button:
- Used to select the desired drying program (Extra dry, Iron dry, Cupboard dry) and the degree of dryness.
- To cancel a drying program, press and hold for about 3 seconds.
SPIN SPEED button:
- Allows reducing or completely canceling the spin speed. This is useful for delicate fabrics or to match fabric label guidelines.
TEMPERATURE SELECTION button:
- Adjusts the washing temperature of the selected program, where allowed.
RAPID LENGTH button:
- When a RAPID program is selected on the knob, this button allows choosing between 14, 30, or 44-minute rapid programs.
Digital Display:
- Provides constant information about the machine's status, including cycle duration, time remaining, and indicators for buttons, spin speed, temperature, and rapid length.
- The display shows "end" when a program finishes.
DOOR LOCKED indicator light:
- Illuminates when the door is fully closed.
- A safety device prevents the door from opening immediately after a cycle. Wait about 2 minutes until the light goes out before opening.
Detergent Drawer:
- Split into three compartments:
- "1" for prewash detergent.
- "8" for special additives, softeners, starch fragrances (only liquid products, automatically dosed during the last rinse).
- "2" for washing detergent. A liquid detergent cup may be included for compartment "2" to ensure liquid detergent enters the drum at the right time. This cup can also be used for bleach with the "Rinse" program.
- For some hard-to-remove detergents, a specific container placed in the drum is recommended.
Drying Guidance:
- Sort laundry by drying care symbols on labels (suitable for tumble drying, tumble dry at high temperature, tumble dry at low temperature only, DO NOT tumble dry).
- If no care label, assume not suitable for drying.
- Sort by size and thickness, especially if the wash load exceeds drying capacity.
- Sort by fabric type (cottons/linen, synthetics).
- Only dry pre-spun laundry.
Maintenance Features
General Cleaning:
- Clean the exterior with a damp cloth, avoiding abrasives, alcohol, or solvents.
- No special care is needed for ordinary cleaning.
Drawer Cleaning:
- Regularly clean the drawer to prevent detergent and additive residue buildup.
- Extract the drawer with slight force, clean it under running water, and reinsert it.
Filter Cleaning:
- The machine has a special filter to trap large residue (buttons, coins) that could clog the drain.
- For some models, pull out the corrugated hose, remove the stopper, and drain water into a container.
- Place an absorbent cloth under the filter before unscrewing it to keep the floor dry.
- Turn the filter counter-clockwise to the limit stop, remove and clean it, then replace by turning clockwise.
Moving or Prolonged Disuse:
- If storing in an unheated room for a long time, drain all water from tubes.
- Unplug the machine.
- Detach the drain tube from the strap and lower it to fully drain water into a bowl.
- Secure the drain tube with the strap when finished.
Installation:
- Cut tube straps carefully, avoiding damage to tubes and power cord.
- Unscrew 2 or 4 screws (A) from the back and remove shims (B).
- Close the holes with plugs provided.
- If built-in, unscrew 3 or 4 screws (A) and remove shims (B). Tilt the machine forward to remove any shims that fall inside.
- Place the polionda sheet on the bottom as shown in the manual.
- Connect the water tube to the faucet using only the supplied drain tube.
- For HOT&COLD models, connect the grey tube to the cold water faucet and the red one to the hot water faucet.
- Ensure water pressure is between 0.05 MPa and 0.8 MPa.
- Place the drain tube in a tub or connect it to a wall drain at least 50 cm high.
- Level the appliance by adjusting the feet: turn the nut clockwise to release, rotate the foot to raise/lower until it adheres to the floor, then lock by screwing in the nut.
- Plug in the appliance.
Safety Instructions:
- Always unplug the appliance and turn off the water faucet before cleaning or maintenance.
