The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC is a full-function, ultra-portable computer designed for mobility and durability, featuring an all-aluminum case. Its lightweight design starts at 2.6 lb (1.19 kg) and is only 1.05 inches (27 mm) thin at the front, making it easy to carry. The device is equipped with an 8.9-inch diagonal WXGA scratch-resistant display, ensuring clarity and resilience for everyday use. For comfortable typing, it boasts a 92% full-size QWERTY keyboard and a responsive touchpad.
For connectivity, the Mini-Note PC offers optional 802.11 a/b/g wireless LAN and Bluetooth, managed by the HP Wireless Assistant, allowing users to stay connected on the go. Storage options include up to a 160 GB 7200 rpm hard drive, complemented by HP 3D DriveGuard for enhanced data protection. An optional integrated VGA Webcam facilitates video conferencing and captures images. The device also includes an ExpressCard/54 slot and a Secure Digital slot, which supports HCSD and MMC media cards for expanded storage and data transfer. The system is powered by VIA C7™-M ULV processors, available in 1.0GHz, 1.2 GHz, and 1.6 GHz variants, each with 128 KB L2 cache. Processor speed is optimized for performance but can run at lower speeds for battery optimization. The VIA 896 chipset supports VIA Chrome 9 graphics, with shared system memory up to 256 MB for Windows with 2 GB of system memory, 128 MB for Windows with 1 GB of system memory, and 64 MB for Linux. The internal display offers 1280 x 768 resolution with scratch-resistant acrylic panel cover and up to 32-bit per pixel color depth. The VGA port supports external resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 at 75 Hz.
The device features an integrated Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet PCI Controller (10/100/1000 NIC) for wired network connections. Wireless options include Broadcom 4311AG 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi Adapter and Broadcom 4311BG 802.11b/g Wi-Fi Adapter, both Wi-Fi certified and supporting Cisco Compatible Extensions (Version 4.0). These adapters support WEP, WPA, WPA2, and 802.1x authentication, with dual antennas integrated into the display enclosure. The spill-resistant keyboard is 92% of full size, with 101/102-key compatibility, isolated inverted-T cursor control keys, and both left and right control and alt keys. It includes 12 function keys and hotkey combinations for audio volume, power conservation, brightness, and other features, available in US and international key layouts. The pointing device is a touchpad with a scroll zone and two soft-touch buttons. For internal storage, the Mini-Note PC offers 120/160 GB 5400 rpm SATA Hard Drives, 120/160 GB 7200 rpm SATA Hard Drives, and an optional 4 GB Flash Module (for SuSE Linux models). Hard drives are customer-removable and designed to withstand multiple insertion/removal cycles. Up to 10 GB of space is reserved for system recovery software. HP 3D DriveGuard protects the hard drive by mounting it to the notebook frame, reducing shock transmission, and using a three-axis digital motion detection system to temporarily halt data transfer and park the hard drive during abrupt motion.
External optical drives are available via the optional HP External MultiBay II (9.5-mm), offering MultiBay II DVD-ROM Drive, MultiBay II DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive, and MultiBay II DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL Drive. Interfaces include an ExpressCard/54 slot, an external VGA monitor port, stereo microphone in, stereo headphone/line out, a power connector, an RJ-45/Ethernet port, and two USB 2.0 ports (one powered). Preinstalled software includes MS Office Ready 2007, Norton Internet Security, MS Live Messenger, Adobe Flash Player, Roxio Creator Basic, Intervideo WinDVD, PDF Complete, HP Backup and Recovery Manager, and HP Webcam. Additional software like OpenOffice Suite, Evolution Email, Firefox Web Browser, and Gaim Instant Messenger are available for SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10. The SMBIOS Version 2.4 is used for system management information.
Security features include Configuration Control Hardware, Memory Change Alert, Ownership Tag, Setup Password, Power-On Password, and a Kensington Lock Slot. The external 65-watt Smart AC adapter comes with a 6-foot (1.8-meter) power cord, with a total length of 12 feet (3.66 meters) including the adapter. HP Fast Charge Technology recharges the battery up to 90% within 90 minutes when the system is off (not applicable to 12-cell Ultra-Capacity batteries). Primary battery options include a 3-cell (28 WHr) high capacity Li-Ion and a 6-cell (55 WHr) high capacity Li-Ion.
Battery life for the 3-cell primary battery is up to 2 hours 15 minutes, and for the 6-cell primary battery, it is up to 4 hours 30 minutes. These measurements are based on models running Microsoft Windows Vista and can vary depending on product configuration, applications, power management settings, and customer usage. The maximum battery capacity will decrease over time. The system standby time is up to 1 week, with power conservation features including Standby and ACPI compliance.
HP Services provides a one-year standard parts and labor warranty, including pick-up or carry-in service and toll-free 7x24 hardware technical phone support (model-dependent). On-site service and warranty upgrades are also available. For SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 configurations, HP Services may vary, and toll-free 5x8 hardware technical phone support is available.
