A spectrophotometer is an instrument that reads spectral energy from
reflective or transmissive subjects.
Generally spectrophotometers are used to gather raw information about the
characteristics of a device. That information can be used to build a profile
that describes the corrective action needed for converting color from one
device to another for precise results.
