This describes the intensity of a color. A solid is fully saturated, while a tint of
a color has less saturation.
Mathematical operators in many printers reduce or limit the saturation of
images to control ink lay-down and drying characteristics.
In an image, saturation partly defines the 'contrast' quality of the image.
