IMPORTANT:
When DPM 200 6 opens, a help window is displayed. Use the help
information to complete the follow ing configuration tasks:
•Configure the server.
• Install disk agents.
• Create a Protection Group.
Complete additional setup (optional)
Some computing environments require additional settings and
configuration, as noted below. Most of these tasks can be completed
using Microsoft capabilities and procedures. Procedures for the DP M
configuration tasks can be found in the Microsoft DPM P lanning and
Deployment Guide.
1. Adjust logging for system, app lication, and security events.
2. Install additional third-party software, such as backup, anti-virus,
or monitoring agents.

3. Create and verify a full server system backup before putting the
system into production.
NOTE:
HP highly recommends that you run Microsoft Windows Update
to identify, review, and install the latest, applicable, critical
security updates on the DP Storage Server. For recommendations,

updates, hotfix, and security patches process on the server, see
