How
It
Works.
When
you
input
a value
and
identify
the
type
of
conversion
you
want
by
pressing
(miles
to
kilometers)
or
[f]
(kilometers
to
miles),
the
calculator
sets
or
clears
flag
0,
then
executes
the
main
program
(beginning
at
label
1).
After
placing
the
conversion
factor
in
the
X-register
the
program
tests
flag
0.
If
the
flag
is
set
(true),
execution
transfers
to
label
2,
the
conversion
to
miles
is
calculated,
and
execution
halts.
If
the
flag
is
clear
(false),
the
conditional
branch
to
2
is
bypassed, a conversion
to
kilometers
is
calculated,
and
execution
halts.
The
function
of
the
flag
is
to
tell
the
calculator
which
of
the
two
labels
has
been
executed and,
therefore,
which
conversion
is
desired.
For
a
further
discussion
of
flag
use,
refer
to
page
215,
Flags,
in
part
I1I
of
this
handbook.
