Planning for Enhanced DFS 3.0 Installation and Configuration
This problem does not arise with Episode aggregates, since Episode is not
locally mountable and you cannot have a disk cache residing there. Episode
aggregates must reside in a separate file system. When exporting a UFS
fileset, however, consider using a memory cache if you have only a single
partition.
NOTE: Before you install and configure Enhanced DFS, be sure to make the planning
decisions described in the OSF DCE DFS Administration and Reference guides.
These decisions include:
• Determining which machine and file system to use for the root.dfs fileset
• Defining Enhanced DFS server and client roles
• Determining the cache size on Enhanced DFS client machines
• Setting up your cell’s Enhanced DFS tree structure
