System-optimization for HP laser papers
For each of the diverse types of paper supported by the printer, there is an optimized print mode.
When tuned to the characteristics of the selected paper, the HP Color LaserJet 2600n printer
provides optimal print quality.
HP color laser papers are the first glossy laser papers designed to work specifically with HP Color
LaserJet printers. HP is one of the few manufacturers who can design the printer, print cartridges,
and paper together to ensure that each component functions at the highest level.
Note Specialty inkjet coated paper is not designed for the heat of a laser printer. To prevent
poor print quality and damage to the laser printer do not use specialty inkjet coated paper.
Ensured high print quality with HP testing
Prior to its introduction, a new HP LaserJet printer undergoes rigorous HP testing to ensure that it
provides consistent high-quality printing. Tests are performed with a large sample of printers
through each step of the design process, to be certain that the printer measures up to HP standards.
Throughout this testing, HP discovers and resolves any issues that would compromise print quality.
The result is a solid, reliable product that produces consistent, excellent print quality over the life of
the printer and its supplies.

Evaluation

This section offers some practical advice for conducting your own print quality evaluation. First,
you will develop a group of sample documents that represent what the typical end-user will print on
the printer. This is the best method for determining if a printer is suited to your environment.
It is important to test files like those that are printed in your workplace. Most print quality files or
print samples included with a printer have been optimized for that printer and may not reflect the
type of output you will receive.
Creating print samples
Your samples should include multiple documents and file types, each created in applications that
are commonly used in your environment. The samples should have different elements (text,
graphics, and photographic images) and should vary in complexity.
Four kinds of documents that could be produced in-house are described below:
