Performance
Get the performance you need—consistently and dependably
Printer performance is more than a measure of maximum engine speed, measured in pages per
minute (ppm). Rather, printer performance is the speed at which a printer can turn electronic files
into printed pages. In addition to engine speed, several factors affect the time it takes to print a
job, including the use of special paper, computer download time, and printer processing time. The
time it takes for your computer to download a job to the printer, and for the printer to process the
job, depends on the following variables:
• The complexity and size of graphics
• The printer’s I/O configuration (network, USB, or parallel speed)
• The speed of your computer
• The network operating system and configuration (if applicable)
• Printer personality or language (such as PCL or PostScript®)
A better performing printer leads to higher productivity in your workplace. You spend less time
waiting at the printer, output appears more quickly, and network traffic is minimized.
The HP Color LaserJet 2600n printer is optimized for performance, print quality, and affordability;
it can complete complex print jobs quickly and without printer failures.
Fast print speeds
Increase office efficiency by printing high-quality HP ImageREt 2400 documents at up to 8 ppm
letter and A4, for both black-and-white and color documents.
The printer features Instant-on Technology which uses an inductive heat fuser to virtually eliminate
warm-up time from both the Ready and Standby states. The first page out print speed is 20 seconds
for black and color. Because there is no warm-up time, the printer consumes less energy and
realizes less wear on the engine over time.
Instant-on Technology allows HP LaserJet printers to complete some print jobs before our
competitors’ printers have even warmed up! The HP Color LaserJet 2600n printer produces a first
page out in less than 20 seconds from a cold start.
Easily prints complex jobs
With a 264 MHz processor, 16 MB RAM, and host-based rendering technology the printer is
designed to process jobs quickly and
provide the speed and performance you need to effortlessly
produce impressive, complex color documents.
