Light-conversion process
When the charged couple device receives the reflected light, it photo-electrically converts the
light to three analog signals (red-green-blue, or RGB). These three signals pass through an
analog-to-digital converter, and the resulting digital signals are sent to the scanner controller
board. The scanner controller board sends the digital signals to the copy processor board, which
initiates output through the base printer.
Note If the source document is manually placed on the glass, the scanning process is the same, except
for document transportation.
