Cleaning Your HP LaserJet
Companion
You might need to clean the HP LaserJet
Companion after scanning approximately
ten pages of newsprint, if the ink on an
item can be smudged with your hand, or
if you scan items that have excessive
amounts of dirt or dust on them.
To clean the roller and image
sensor
1 Pull forward on the release levers and
open the cover.
2 Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol
(pH7 or neutral pH) or glass cleaner.
3 Press either [To[Printer] or [To[PC] on
the HP LaserJet Companion to rotate
the roller, and wipe the white roller
with the cotton swab.
4 Spray glass cleaner on a new cotton
swab and clean the glass on the
image sensor.
Caution
Do not spray cleaner or any other liquid
directly on or into the HP LaserJet
Companion as this will damage the HP
LaserJet Companion. Whenever cleaning,
direct spray away from the open part of
the HP LaserJet Companion.
