NOTE The Restore Factory Settings menu item in the printer control panel menu will not
reset the HP Jetdirect print server. After resetting to factory default values, print a Jetdirect
configuration page to confirm that factory-reset values have been assigned.
To perform a cold reset:
1 Turn the printer on and watch for the memory count to begin.

Press and hold the Select
button until the three control panel lights (Ready, Data, Attention)
blink and then remain on.

Release the Select
button. The control panel will display Select Language.

Press the down arrow
M
button until Cold Reset appears.

Press the Select
button to perform a cold reset and then continue its power-on sequence.
Disabling the Embedded LAN
For fault isolation to either printer or networking components, you can disable the Jetdirect
embedded network interface. To disable the network components, follow these steps:
1 Turn the printer on and watch for the memory count to begin.

Press and hold the Select
button until the three control panel lights (Ready, Data,Attention)
blink and then remain on.

Release the Select
button. The control panel will display Select Language.

Press the down arrow
M
button until Disable Embedded LAN appears.

Press the Select
button. The embedded networking components will be disabled, and the
printer will continue its power-on sequence.
NOTE To enable the embedded network interface, use the same procedures, except choose
Enable Embedded LAN in step 4 above.
