Scanner assembly
Before proceeding, remove the following assemblies:

Control-panel assembly. See
Control-panel assembly on page 5.

Optional: Document feeder. See
Document feeder on page 69.
NOTE: HP recommends removing the document feeder to decrease the weight of the scanner
assembly when it is lifted off of the product.
●
Scanner rear and FFC bezel cover. See
Scanner rear and FFC bezel cover on page 66.
●
Remove one of the following:

If a stapler/stacker is installed: stapler/stacker rear cover. See
Stapler/stacker rear cover
on page 67.
◦
If a stapler/stacker is not installed: rear upper cover. See
Rear upper cover on page 64.
Remove the scanner assembly
1. Disconnect two connectors (callout 1), and then release the wire harness from the retainer (callout
2).
NOTE: In the figure below, the wire harness has already been released from the retainer (callout
2).
