7. Drum cleaning
The cleaning blade is in contact with the surface of the drum at all times. As the drum rotates during
printing, excess toner is scraped off and stored in the waste-toner receptacle.

Laser/scanner system
The DC controller controls the laser scanner system according to commands from the formatter. The DC
controller controls the internal components in the laser scanner system to form a latent electrostatic
image on the photosensitive drum according to the VIDEO signals.
