Table 2-76 MP modes under the Optimize submenu
Normal Use Normal when the product prints on smoother media with
Normal Media mode is used.
Normal changes the second transfer bias and the fuser
temperature.
Light Media This is designated when fuser wrap jams are observed with
light media, most likely in high humidity.
The product reduces the fuser fixing temperature (which can
result in loss of fixing performance).
NOTE: Applies to all print modes, however, only the
following modes might actually require this mode: Normal,
Light 2, Light Rough, and Gloss 1.
Heavy Paper Use Heavy Paper when the product prints on smoother
media when Heavy Media 2 or , Heavy Media 3 mode is
used.
Heavy Paper changes the second transfer bias and the fuser
temperature.
Envelope Control Use Envelope Control when envelope sticking occurs.
Envelope Control changes the fuser temperature.
Talc Paper Use Talc Paper when cleaning failure due to paper dust
occurs.
Talc Paper changes the control of when the ITB stops.
Environment Set to Normal if the product is operating in a low-temperature
environment and you are having problems with print quality
such as blisters in the printed image.
Line Voltage Use Line Voltage when the product is operating in a region
where the power voltage is 100 Vac.
This mode optimizes fuser conditions to accommodate the
lighter media that is usually printed on in a 100 Vac region
(for example, Japan).
This mode reduces the potential of the product to slow down
because cannot fully heat the fuser in a low voltage
operating environment.
Line Voltage improves fuser temperature performance. The
Normal mode operates at a lower fuser temperature when
the product is at full throughput.
Tray 1 Alternate 1 compares length of image designated by EC-M0
and the length of detected media for the page designated as
Universal size, and when this determines that the image is
shorter than the media, it executes T2 cleaning after job is
completed. Conducts T2 cleaning when job is completed, in
cases where the Universal size is designated and the
designated image length and actual media size are different.
Alternate 2 causes T2 cleaning to be performed every time a
job is completed when Universal Size is selected.
